So do yourself a favor. Hook the ported port on your carb, to the vacuum advance like it was designed. Set your timing between 12-14 initial 34-36 all in. And watch it purr like a kitten. And your cam is close to stock, so there should be no issues with idling.

That's actually a very good coil. Under hood temps do play havoc with electronic parts etc. If this is what made the coil go bad, we may never know.

Denso iridium plugs are a great plug if you are driving a Toyota. Seriously. But for your 318 Mopar, are not the correct plugs to use, plus way overpriced. Get yourself some NGK's or Autolites. With the extra money, take your favorite one out to dinner. :-)

Go LA 360. More cubes, same amount of money as a 318 build. Much more straight forward. 360 balancer, B&M 904/360 flexplate, neutral balanced torque converter, SB 904,V8 driveshaft, slant to SB motor mounts. SB radiator. This will get you in the ballpark.

Depends who you ask. I'm not a fan of Pertronix. I consider it a bubble gum ignition. I like the Chrysler electronic ignition. Millions of miles of dependable service. Just my opinion.
