I think the single plane intake is killing you. I would start by going to a good dual plane intake. (Ede RPM or Air-Gap).

Auto or 4 speed ? If its an auto,are you shifting through the gears manually ? I have an auto,three on the tree. Starting in first and manually shifting through the gears allows me to shift in the cars upper RPM'S. Of course a tach is a must. Shaving weight will help as well.

First of all I would be more concerened about performance than sound. Having said that I would go with a Comp XE256H or XE262H. These shold put you right in the good performance, good sound catagory. Especially with your headers and free flowing mufflers. Need a little more information...

How much horse do you think you will be pushing? If your around 400 a 750 would be my choice. My 360 has between 300-400 hp, so I went with a 670 street avenger. Looks like you will have a little more horse than that.

Are you replacing your stock springs? Anything over 500" lift will float your stock springs,and just be to much cam for a stock 318. You are better off with a Comp Cam 252H or 260H. Others have had very good luck with a stock 340 cam in a 318. Mopar Performance 340 reproduction cam P4452782...

Do it !!!!!! The xe274 cam is bad to the bone.The modern technology of the xe cams is superior to the old purple shaft.As far as I know,you will have to change springs.Match it with a pair of there lifters.Very nice !!!!!

The MC heat shield is built fom stainless steel. Although aluminum might have been a better idea with its heat disipation.(sp?)

Guys use to cut there fender wells all the time for these headers.Some cut a little cleaner than others. Get some cardboard and make some templates.Find your self some sheet metal or alum and cut them out.Install with some sheet metal screws. No worries !!!!!!! Another tip. Master...
