    Go to a diaphragm clutch, if it doesn't already have it. Take the over center spring off, and give it to your neighbor. The clutch is soooo much smoother without it.

    You keep the spring with the old 3 finger borg warner clutch. F**k that noise, get with the times, lose the spring and get a diaphragm clutch. Works like butter, without that weird feeling the spring gives. Night and day difference. Good luck !!!

    My 4spd car is a slant six as well. Get a diaphragm pressure plate. Get rid of the over center spring, and you will be amazed at the difference in the clutch feel.Smooth as butter.

    Now's your chance to get rid of the Borg &Beck pressure plate and go with a better Diaphragm style. Then you can get rid of the clutch pedal over center spring. Gives the clutch a much better feel.

    You want to use a GL4 in your 833, which is designed for soft brass syncros, which the 833 has. Put in some Redline MT-90 GL4, and dont look back.

    Bingo......Redline MTL. Installed this in my 833, and it shifts so much better. Read up on brass syncros, and what type of oil they need. Then put Redline MTL in. You wont be sorry.

    Brewers sells new shims, including the shim with the bend. after time the shim with the bend flattens, creating a loose,rattling shifter.

    If you have a diaphragm clutch, remove it. Period. You wont have that hitch, or over center,feeling when you press the clutch in. Much smoother without the spring. Nobody uses the borg warner clutch anymore anyways. Remove it, and chuck it as far as you can. Or put it on ebay for something like...
