    I'd pick up a new rear end. 8.25s can be picked up for between $100 and $200 all day long. You'll need the shock plates and U-bolts to make that fit. You will need a new transmission too.

    It's not your fast idle cam that the carb is stopped on? It might be stuck there. If your plate is closed you should be able to see that from the top with a flashlight.

    Drop them jets down to .045 and see if things improve. Considering .072 is a good starting point on a 650-750 your .060s may be a little too much.

    Compression ratio

    If you want more you'll have to pull the head and start measuring. CC the chamber measure the bore and stroke. Then with a dial indicator see if the piston is above or below the deck. Then add that or subtract that from the chamber volume. Don't forget the gasket bore and thickness.
