From the little searches I have made on YB coating skirts is ok but if your going to coat the tops of the pistons get them hard anodized. Unless you are going big no2, boost or cant tune a strong combo you really dont need the anodize. Skits maybe.

I think mechanical is more reliable. The mechanical will also read when the car is off. This is nice at the track when you want to keep an eye on the whater temp.

If your HP is at 6300 I see no point in not taking the motor to 6400 to6500 on shifts and 6600 to 7000 in the traps. If you make your 425HP at 6300 you are making less than that at 5400 and 5600. Depending on the cam you could be making as little as 325 at 5400 and 5600.
