I’d use PVC Conduit. Obviously a ground wire is needed. You can make your own bends by heating up the conduit with a propane torch. No prefabricated 90’s needed. It’s a much cleaner job without all the couplings.

How many Amps does the 6124 draw? Fan speed controllers available at HomoDepot are typically rated at around 5A Max.

If the name plate specs out 208v and doesnt list 240 volt/amp ratings, then the electrician installed the heater in the wrong application. Maybe its a 3phase 208v only application.
