    Pipe bender

I’m an electrician by trade and used the above pictured “Cyclone” conduit bender for safety rails on my motorhome. I used 1.25” Rigid Aluminum Conduit for the handrails and 3/4” Rigid Aluminum Conduit for the banisters. Electrical Benders have a wide radius which is a deterrent for tight bends...

    bending conduit "by hand"

Hmm, perhaps try replacing that run of conduit using 3 LR’s and an LB. Coming out of the receptacle box use a LR shooting the conduit straight up into another LR then have the conduit follow the soffit into an LB. Then the conduit can rise straight up into another LR and then across into your...

    bending conduit "by hand"

I’d use PVC Conduit. Obviously a ground wire is needed. You can make your own bends by heating up the conduit with a propane torch. No prefabricated 90’s needed. It’s a much cleaner job without all the couplings.

    New Shop. Which lights?

Add more light fixtures or add a chrome reflector. A lamp with higher Lumens will be brighter. Keep in mind, fluorescent lamps loose some light output over time.

    Any Electricians? Advice on wire.

The sub panel will require 2 hot legs, a neutral and a ground. The existing stove wire might not have the neutral and ground conductors. Romex or NM-B cable cannot be run inside a conduit, use single THHN wires inside conduit.

Electricians on FABO - I want to add a 60Amp sub panel

Put the 60a breaker in your main panel in your house. Run the #6 to the lugs in your sub panel. Seperate the grounds and neutrals in the sub panel. If you want to shut off power in the garage, simply turn off the circuit breakers in the garage. I run 12/3 Romex, you might use the black for...

Electricians on FABO - I want to add a 60Amp sub panel

Some power companys require a "bypass" meter pan. It has a handle that when placed in the bypass position releases the jaws that hold the meter terminals. This way the power company can service the meter witout disrupting power to the house. The bypass handle is long, so the meter pan cover...

Adding functionality to my Mopar/Jeep shop

Are the flourescent lights you are using the 4' T-12 lamps? Those are the fat 1 1/2" diameter lamps. Most of those ballasts have a minimum start temp of 50 degrees. The 4' T-8 lamps are 1" in diameter and will fit in the same sockets and light fixture. Most T-8 ballasts have a zero degree...

    Your Garage Heating System

If the name plate specs out 208v and doesnt list 240 volt/amp ratings, then the electrician installed the heater in the wrong application. Maybe its a 3phase 208v only application.
