    1973 B3 Duster

I just started messing with the tuning and everything I read and recommendations here said it needs 18-20 degrees initial, so that's where I have it right now. I bought one of those distributor advance lock plates from FBO and used the 14 crank degrees mark, and my total wound up in the mid 30s...

Actually it was the cowl blackout shouldn't wrap around the entire cowl. I hadn't even noticed the rear stripe. AHHHHHH!!!!!! :) The rear bumper guards are fine and I will probably eventually get the front ones refinished and put those on. The shop didn't do it because they were something...

    1973 B3 Duster

Car is pretty much done. I should be able to pick it up soon. The shop took it to the Charlotte Auto Fair this last week and it won 2nd place at the show (not sure if that is all of the show, or 2nd in the club, or what, but he got a trophy). There is just one thing that I am going to get...

More pictures. My camera was dead when I last went to look at the engine bay, so I don't have any pictures of that. There is a chance it will be cranked soon.

    1973 Plymouth Duster "Petty"

I'm partial to the petty blues myself.

    1973 B3 Duster

Um, yeah. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than I expected or set up in budget. I have determined the guy doing the car really has no idea how much this actually costs. Oh well. I hope it gets done this summer and I can start enjoying driving it, at least. Most of the upgrades came out of...

I got the radio from Classic Industries. It is a RetroSounds Dart One, I think, and is only listed for the 67-68 Dart. I'm pretty sure it fits all of the two post A-bodies, though. You can also get them from Crutchfield or directly from RetroSounds.

Here are some more photos. The shop is taking longer than I had initially hoped, but I've enjoyed the garage space. I think about all that is left now is assembly. The shop is now waiting on the motor so that the drivetrain can be installed. The last word on that was that the guy building the...

    1973 B3 Duster

More pictures. The engine compartment is painted and there is undercoating. The next phase is to install the motor and transmission and all of the stuff that will make it go. Last comes the interior and all of the exterior trim pieces. TTI headers and exhaust come tomorrow!

    What does it cost?

My experience is turning out to be pretty similar. My Duster was mostly intact, but replacing all the parts adds up quick. Then came the drive train change out!! There is a lot more involved with that than I expected at first. I have a local shop doing all of my work and I expect it to be...

I got some pictures from the shop this week and there is paint!! I'm going to try to go see it on Friday.

    1973 B3 Duster

The person rebuilding my motor sent some pictures yesterday and said he is getting close to assembly. He still has a few more little pieces to buy and then it is on to all of the external parts (fuel/water pumps, carburetor, ignition, headers, etc.) He said the motor has been blueprinted...

    1973 B3 Duster

That's what I'm seeing since I started looking. The best selection looks to be with BF Goodrich TAs. My father worked for Kelly Springfield/Goodyear for 30 years, so I may get disowned if I buy those! :)

The more I think about it, the more I am considering telling him to just paint the hood right or outsource it to someone who can. I'll see how the stripe idea works out, but I don't know if it is possible to do the scoops that way. The car has disk brakes in the front and drums in the...

    1973 B3 Duster

Hello everyone. I am posting pictures of my restoration. Due to my lack of skills and space (mainly skills), I am not doing this work myself and have outsourced it to All Classics Restorations. The shop isn't far from me and the owner is doing his best to help me stay in budget (within reason)...
