    727 Rebuild Videos

Yeah I see a few things people can question, but nothing really detrimental. Good videos overall.

    Dynamic converter

What do you brake stall vs what you flash to at WOT from a stop? There is a difference. That's why your converter works good for you. If you got one that flashed to 3800 but was loose and sloppy down low you'd hate it, and so would your transmission!

    Dynamic converter

You should be ok as long as you have the big cooler. From my experience, the tighter converter will work good on the street and not produce much extra heat when used in conjunction with the big cooler. Too loose at your otherwise ideal cruise rpm is where trouble begins on the street. To...

    Why a $700 convertor???

Exactly. These are made to order and will not balloon and take out the thrust bearing like a less expensive off the shelf model. I went with a 10 inch race from Dynamic.

    Diesel tranny woes.....Help pleeze

Baking soda and a toothbrush ROCKS for cleaning the terminals. Is this just a cummins-specific thing, or any RE based trans fishy?

    Ever wanted Overdrive?

My best trans ever was a 700r4. It lived behind 670ish hp. Never hurt it, and I'm a ruthless SOB. If the valve body came out of it like it does in a TF trans, I probably would still be using one. I love that feature of the TF. A transmission is only as good as the skills and knowledge of the...

    so I blew reverse again.

Anyone bother checking the servo? Was the band just replaced and not adjusted? These are the questions....

Highest stall speed for a street car

There is no such thing as a stall converter. LOL It's a torque converter! I see and hear things sometimes that make me want to bust up, but I try to be polite.

    Raptor...Anyone know these guys???

They build good transmissions. I dealt with them a while ago because they were the ony ones building a decent overdrive trans. If all you're looking at is a 727/904, check with cope too. Cope build a great trans too.

    Calculating Transmission Losses

Try the loss through an overdrive supposedly in the 20-23 percent range.

    2002 Viper with 727A tranny

I've seen powerglides on the serious haulass ones, and turbo 400s. Not sure I have seen a 727, but it can be done. These are awesome setups for racng.

    Dakota trans issue ??

44rh? Yes, overdrive is controlled with a solenoid. Sometimes they flake out and you need to replace it. If it works sometimes and other times not, it's not the od clutch. gotta be the solenoid, or something in the wiring. It won't go into overdrive until it reaches x amount of degrees. I...

    5 or 6 speed auto on a 360??

My first trans in my dakota was my fault. I never adjusted the band like I should have and when they show the signs it's already too late. Second time was a constant nagging 17xx code for the governor circuit. Tried everything. Wiring was tested fine, PCM swapped, sensor and solenoid replaced...

    5 or 6 speed auto on a 360??

I am not too impressed with the late mopar trannies. The trans in my srt300 croaked at 17k miles. And I didnt even drive it hard. In fact I rarely drive it at all. I have a 46re now in my legendary POS Dakota and I am doign the transgo tfod3 kit which makes the trans fully manual for my...

    5 or 6 speed auto on a 360??

The parasitic hp loss from a 5 speed auto would probably terrible. I'm not positive on that, but it's my best guess having a 4 speed auto now. I like having the overdrive as it facilitates a lower rear gear, but just that one extra gear contributes to roughly 23 percent driveline loss. A...
