The '67 is off for surgery

Got it back from Rust Busting it. All was well except for the l/f fender. The guys told me they could fix it, but it may be less costly just to get another fender. I told them not to finish it off, and leave it low as I needed to prep the whole car anyway, so they did. They got 'er repaired...

Thank you sir, she'll look good on the outside here in a couple weeks. Next Sat I'll be taking the car to get the outside rust taken care of!

The '67 is off for surgery

Well I got the floors in the cab and under the car all seam sealed up, and the bottom undercoated. Talk about a contact high! I had to take a break as the garage (man cave) was spinning pretty good. I'll get photos up tomorrow when the fumes die back down and I can get out there and touch up...

Yeah I did the spring relocate before it went out. He put the sub-frames in while he was there. I can't wait to get it going!

Yeah the engine was in the first paragraph, just a 340 for now if I can't sell it.

The '67 is off for surgery

I'm going with the "sleeper" look. Widening dog dish steels for the back, lots of back spacing to squeez the 10+Inch wide wheel on a stock A body length rear end. Auto/340 set up right now. I have the 340 for sale, but if it's not sold by the time I need it, I'll use it. I had the dyno sheet...

Thanks on the comments, not thanks on that trade on the rear ends. ;) I could care less about period correct anything. It's going to be 2008, it'll run like it was built then too.

Got 'er back from the shop. I didn't have the $$$ to have him mini-tub it so I guess that's on me, along with buttoning up a few other things, but I think for the money spent on it she looks pretty darn good. Sub-frame connectors look nice and beefy under there too.

Time has come to get the floors done, so I loaded 'er up on the trailor. Man that Dana looks sexy under there. What the floors look like now. Going for it's ride to the shop. We'll get some after pics in a week or so.

    Spring debate

Gotcha, I'm in the process of a mini-tub and stuffing 325's under there, but it would seem the mono-leaf and cal-trac is the way to go.

    Spring debate

Probably seeing 550rwhp with the current set up on the jug, 375-390 off the jug. Anythoughts after knowing this?

    Spring debate

Well it's getting time to get a set of springs under the car since the rear end will be back any time now, and was wondering what your guys thoughts were on rear springs. I had thought about going with the SS springs, giving it that "old school" pick up and go at the track, along with a...

    Moving rear springs.....

That is from BBD.com and it is cutting the rear sub-frame. I will be ending up doing this, but was looking for a way to NOT cut the rear frame.
  19. Q

    Moving rear springs.....

Yeah I see what you mean, unless they moved the spring a little further inboard than right under the sub-frame. You'd have to make a bracket that would "hug" the stock sub-frame, and then have the mount for the spring.

    Moving rear springs.....

Thanks that would be awesome, I havn't had any luck yet.

    Moving rear springs.....

I've never seen the kit either, there was talk over on BBD.com about it, and was curious if anybody over on these boards has heard of it.

    Moving rear springs.....

I know what you mean, I've got a stout small block going in, it's just sitting on the stand waiting for me to get the shell done.
  23. Q

    Moving rear springs.....

    Knobody has heard of this?
  24. Q

    Moving rear springs.....

This is not what I'm talking about doing. There was a company that has since been out of buisiness (ABC) or somthing like that, that did make a kit to move the springs inboard without cutting the frame. Somthing from the sounds of a sleeve that went over the exhisting frame and using other...

    Moving rear springs.....

Without cutting on the frame? I saw a post over on BBD about this but knobody has posted any pictures of this. Anybody over here have any good info about doing this? Perhaps pics of the set up and a little advice on how to? I'm getting some things moved around in the garage and getting the...
