Not to completely derail TJ's thread, but hydraulic clutches aren't as weak as some would have you believe. I've done the Magnum 6 speed conversions, I was probably one of the first when they came out. A properly set up hydraulic clutch will work just as well if not better than a mechanical one...

The 200R4 and 4L60E conversions don't need hacking.

I'm going with the 46RH in my Valiant, but there is going to have to be some reworking of the T-bar/trans crossmember above the trans. With the 200r4, you just need to build a new crossmember and fold the pinchweld at the firewall.

I've put a few behind some healthy 572 Chevy crate motors. They'll hang if built right. I'll add that you have to get that TV cable geometry and adjustment right.

There's a few questions missing out of this equation. First would be what your usage of the car is. Second will be what the torque curve of your engine looks like. How much boost are you running and when does that boost start to build?
