Searching for my old 68 Formula S 383 Notchroof

The prices seem to have stabilized a bit in the last couple years. Now the early and late ones are starting to move up since the rest have become too costly for the normal joe. I wish you all the luck in obtaining your old car back. I found my old Challenger after looking for 20 years. I...

    Searching for a lost Cuda

agreed, the vinyl is pretty rare as I have only seen a few fastbacks with it. Hopefully the vinyl has been kept if the car is still around. It is a surefire way to ID the car.

    Searching for a lost Cuda

The vinyl top, if factory, was code V1T saddle bronze as there was no Tan option. It is probably washed out. Black, white, green, and bronze were the only top color options. The vinyl top, if it has been kept, is a very distinguishable feature to help you find it as they were pretty rare. What...

340 Engine with long time between casting and engine date

While not common it is also not unheard of. The reason would be an over abundance of engine blocks. I have seen engines with gaps like that. If I am not mistaking Chrysler was selling 340's over the counter that or the following year for 3 or 400. And I think you're right on the .020 over...

    found 340 vin #0R3041

Most 340 "engines" were built at the Windsor factory. I have not seen a 340 "CAR" from the Windsor factory. On the left front by where the head bolts on there are engine assembly numbers that probably start FW340Pxxxxxxxx. F=1970 W= Windsor 340 P = premium fuel. I'm Curious what are those number?
  25. Rocky_JS

    found 340 vin #0R3041

sure enough, if you blow the picture up a bit looks like a real light 76 on the end, I've seen a lot of (mostly all early) 340's built at Windsor, but not a 340 car. cool....
