One thing does come to mind and that is that if you purchased a 440 (or bigger) car w/4-spd, the Dana axle was std. It could be they didn't want to go through the expense of tooling another differential for the 69 440 a-bodies. So it was offered with Auto only.. It did come in the 68 Hemi cars...

I think on carb's it is the old saying and my experience. The track is going to be the gauge. I would go for best mph. I have always preferred Holley over TQ. I think it is a lot easier to tune and the parts to adjust them are a lot more accessible.

all things being equal, w/o spacers it should give you a +/- 1/4 inch to the spring. I am not using tubes.

I have a 15x8 4.5bs Hoosier 10.5x28 and they are too wide (lip) and they just hit the leaf spring with the 12.1 section width of the tire. I would say 9x28 w/11.1 section width would be safe and optimal.

probably best with an unfamiliar car I would use something like 5500 to shake it down and try to key on that until you know how the car is going to react (leave, steer pull, top end, etc). You will have fun!

I do not have the answer for your question. I do have a question to your question: do you currently have max wedge heads? There are big intake port differences between B/RB heads and max wedge heads.
