How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

When I say one out or two outs, I meant pairs. One out meaning a left & right (white/red) for rears. Two outs- apair for front and a pair for rear. I’m sorry.

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

The 30 Watt RMS Kicker would walk all over the 40 Watt peak head unit. Picture shows 2 sets of RCA outputs on the back. The specs say 1 pair of outputs for rear. Maybe updated? If you have 2 sets of outs, Is the 2nd set for a sub, or for fronts? If it is a front out, set the Input Level of...

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

Head units are usually rated at peak power, (read that as downhill with a good tailwind) whereas an actual amp is rated as continuous, or RMS. Also, there are different ways to get to 40 watts if you know ohms law. Power (in watts) is achieved from Amps X Volts. You can achieve a lot of voltage...

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

Lots of good information here, but I’ll add what I can to see if we can confuse you some more. As @273 said, it won’t be a set it once and be done thing. You can get it close, but as you listen to different music, you might need to tweak it now and then, eventually you get it where it sounds...

    Harness Tape/Wrap

Thank you for all your replies. I've been sidetracked with other stuff for the past couple weeks. I'm going to swing by Napa, & if they don't have anything, then I'll do an amazon order. I had some from amazon that I used during the interior work, but it was kind of cloth based & wasn't sure...

    Wiring identification preference?

A little on the costly side for one job, but if you have access to borrow.... I have a Dymo Rhino label maker from my home theater days. It only handles ½” wide label tape. I prefer the one we have at work which will handle the ¾” tape. How many letters you can fit in the width of the tape is...

    Electronic ignition upgrade.

Well in my case, my car is a 68, I'm using an electronic era distributor to trigger an HEI. "hidden" black HEI module is less noticeable than an orange box under the hood. While NO, not much under there is stock anyway, there's one less thing jumping out at you. I went the HEI route ONLY after...

    Electronic ignition upgrade.

I made my own under distributor bracket for the HEI module using some 1/4" aluminum plate, and added an additional finned heat sink. If you go that route, Be sure to use thermal paste and make sure the mounting surface (bracket/plate whatever) doesn't have any high spots or burrs. You want...

Where to get quality light sockets

I bought some salvage sockets from a member. After I wired them up, I enveloped the backside of entire front side marker light in a glob of duct-seal hoping to prevent the new lights & sockets from corroding. The pot metal 68 light gets spray from the front tire. As a side note, I also got...

Who knows about turn signal wiring?

I used switchback LEDs in my reverse lights. White when reverse, amber for signal. The only thing I give up is turn and reverse at the same time, turn would override reverse. You can get white/red switchbacks of you would prefer to stay with red, but since the reverse is within the same...

Bench testing a variable/3 speed wiper motor

Heres what I’ve got, though I’m working on a different year, & my wiring looks different. The test procedure did work for me, but obviously can’t make any guarantees. My guess would be My green = your yellow & My brown = your black

Bench testing a variable/3 speed wiper motor

I just saw the test procedure I had found, I’ll see if I can post it tomorrow, but what I was testing was for a 68. It is a variable, but the test ran it as hi speed, low speed and park. (I think I saw it on my work computer)

    GPS tach ?

You could be sitting still with the pedal matted, satellites ain’t gonna know that. Once you put it in gear and start moving, different satellites can triangulate your position with great accuracy hence the speed information.

Noob question; Installing intellitronix digital gauge, (tw: LOTS OF DUMB QUESTIONS)

In your original post you wrote "2. Additionally there is a youtube video of a gentleman who installed this gauge and he mentioned that he taped these two black and red wires together (pictured in mess.JPG, encircled in green).... I have a feeling that this maybe what black and red wires are...

    Wiper wiring 3-speed '74 dart sport ?

mymopar.com has downloadable wiring diagrams, though that isn’t going to help you with bare wires. On my 68 (might not be the same, yet a good chance) red, brown, & green from terminals E,F, G, connect directly to motor, blue (H) goes through the “park” switch under the motor cover. Drawing is...

    Electrical solderless or soldered connectors

Good Gawd, if he was going to do a video on it, he could have done a better job. I like coffee too, but dial it back when you're going to be working with tools with pointy 700 degree tips

    Electrical solderless or soldered connectors

I crimped my connections, then soldered, then heat shrink. Should last longer than me I used packard connectors that also had an extra folded over tab that appears to keep continuous tension against the “blades”. If that helps, only time will tell, hopefully a good long time.

    68 Baracuda electrical questions

Welcome! Probably best bet for finding the black plastic plugs is junkyard, or somebody parting out a car, but most would probably want to sell the complete part of the harness attached to that plug. If you have the plugs, you can replace just the terminals inside. (Packard connectors) If...

Fender mounted turn indicators on 68 Dart

Fender mounted turn indicators on 68 Dart

Sounds like someone wired them up to the front side marker light circuit. the should be tied into the turn signal circuit. Stock on a 68-the front grill markers are only on when the light switch is pulled out to position 1, but off when headlights are on. Sometimes people rewire those to be on...

Low Beams dead, Hi Beam Fine?

"has to be that floor switch or the wire leaving the floor switch." not necessarily, it could be the bulkhead connector where the wire passes through the firewall into the engine compartment. That would be where I start IF you are getting 12 volts out of both hi & lo output side of Beam...

I used these, probably a little different, but you are really looking to make a nice tight connection regardless of its "shape". I also soldered each connector. Head lights

Please read and sit and think about posts #7 and 19. Maybe go look at the items mentioned in posts # 7 & 19. Then think a little more. There are no relays in the headlight circuit unless someone did some rewiring in your car. We have no idea if this is the case based on your description (or...

Where to get quality light sockets

I got some reproduction 68 side marker lights a few years ago (can’t remember source) but my project is only just now getting around to that stage. As soon as I pull the headlight switch-pop, there goes a fuse. I have rewired a ton of stuff, changed some stuff, and added stuff, so I assumed it...
