Ok, brass rivets. Good info. Still have them here somewhere on the farm. 3/8" flat head or so. It´s a good thing the box is not an eye-catcher like the 4-speed shifter next to it and I got this one perfectly right.

I put my money here... The entire chassis was in gray primer to start with. Engine compartment, door pillars and trunk was painted black. Not floor. Radiator support and under front bumper was also gray since engine comp. was painted when car had been assembled. Front clip of the Barracuda was...

Thank you for this info. There was one odd duck in 1968 that had everything in gray primer till engine compartment got a hurried black paint job. I´m trying to recreate one. We know them as the SS Hemi A-bodies.

What would correct original finish of the cooling package be? Not the tank or frame. That would be Semi Glossy Black or something (correct my terminology)
