The '69 Camaro piece looks better than the lawn edging air dam on my '64 Valiant.

    flip top gas cap/ 65 dart ?

I saw photos of one, decades ago, that had been "frenched" in the quarter. Basically the guy built a floored cylinder just deep enough to let just the crown of the cap protrude slightly. It was notched for the hinge and the latch.

    Another "what are these" post.

Not sure. May I make a suggestion for questions like this? When taking a photo of items to be identified, put something in for scale - a ruler, yardstick, etc. Also, indicate the material.

Do Early A-Bodies Truly Have Lower Profile Hoods?

Minor point, Slant Six strokes were 3 1/8" for 170's, 3.64" for 198's, and 4 1/8" for 225's. The 170 "G" block was about an inch shorter in height than the 198/225 "RG" block.

1965 Barracuda Formula S - New Weekend Cruiser

Ought to be a fun car! Looks like a disk brake master cylinder. That, and the 8.25 rear make me ask if it has disk brakes up front and the 4.5" bolt pattern at both ends. That opens up some good opportunities for a cruiser and a user.

Why is it that it's always 1 out of 4 bolts has to be a pain in the ***?

One of my engineering professors referred to it as "the inherent cussedness of inanimate objects".

    Road Racing Dart

If you look (quickly!) to the left at 15:16 in that video, you'll see a course worker with a '64 Slant Six Valiant. Handsome devil, too!

75 valiant build, go back stock /6 or v8

Another way of looking at it: a) Stick to the Slant Six and have something different, and experience a different set of challenges and rewards. b) Swap to a V8 like everyone else, and enter the path more heavily travelled. Lots of benefits there. Don't get me wrong: I like V8 A-bodies -...

list your most moronic thing you've seen done to a car

We had a Chevy LUV for a while. Someone had removed the fuse panel. There were no fuses in the vehicle at all. Leads were taped together with masking tape or duct tape. The alternator lead wire was just stuffed into place, with no lug. In spite of that abuse, it became a very reliable...

Summit Racing just opened 3 miles from my house

I stopped by the Arlington site before the Grand Opening, since I happened to be in town on business. Normally, they're about 320 miles from me. Nice showroom! 440 'Cuda on a turntable in the front. A lot of the items are mounted on display boards in the aisles, so you see more than the...

    N/A 318 vs Turbo /6

What's in the car now? Switching between a Slant and a 318 will involve a different transmission, radiator, probably a driveshaft, maybe a rear end. If it's already set up for one, that could make the difference in money.

    texas dmv laws?

I changed the registration of my '64 to "Classic" last year. While "Antique" would not require annual inspection, it would limit how I used the car to parades and car shows. I like to drive it all over. I was also able to restore a pair of year-of-manufacture plates and have those approved...

Geez what is with the prejudice against bench seats

It's the dreaded "P" word: Practicality. Bench seats give versatility in seating, even allowing the driver to shift around quite a bit on long drives. Of course there are other activities inside the car which are made less of a challenge with a bench arrangement. I'm convinced it's the same...

    Whats everone working on?

I'm in the middle of a front end rebuild and disk brake swap for my '64 Valiant. It's getting the 10.87" rotors, slider calipers, Moog bushings, KYB shocks, 15"X7" rims, , etc. Lots of fun! I'm surprised at how little rust and general disorder I'm finding. This car has not been babied, but...
