    W series heads on a 59* block

No you can not run offset lifters in the 59 degree with a 48 head, the oddball pushrod angle will put the link bar of lifter into a bind & snap it in half.

    W series heads on a 59* block

I was thinking that they ran these W series heads for yr in sprint cars, nascar, and pro-mod before they came out with the 48* block right? Whats the difference in someone running a W2 or W5 head on their 59* block?

    W series heads on a 59* block

I have been racking my brain and reading a ton on this.. I have a 59* R1 block and some badass ported W9 heads to go with it.. I have some offset TD rockers .650 to compensate for the lifter bore spacing which makes a hideous push rod angle that quite frankly scares me. With my W9's I can't run...

    W9 valve train question

Yeah I think I need to run a 5/16 push rod with around a .700 offset rocker and a oil fed lifter. This combo should last for some street use and track abuse that this turbo car will see.

    W9 valve train question

I read this on Shady Dell speed shop web site. This is probably becoming my most frequently asked question lately, since the marketplace seems to be flooded with W7/8/9 cylinder heads with MP discontinuing some of the W9s and a lot of used CNC ported heads popping up around the country. The...

    W9 valve train question

I'm using some W9 heads on a 59* R1 block (tall deck) the lifter bores have been brushed and prepped by Ray Barton. Phil Colman set the heads up to use them specifically for this block. The W9 heads obviously use an offset Rocker which I using a T&D rocker. I was told that with a 48* block to...

What is your HP to cube ratio?

I have been told that with my 416 I should only look to be around 600-630 HP b/c of the HP rule of thumb (1.5 hp per CI ) meaning 1.5x416=total hp? However I have a buddy that has a 393 SB mopar with W8 heads that made 730hp. I was hoping to break into the 700hp realm with this setup.
