    Bose speaker usage question

That shoudn't be a problem. The problem is the other way. Using 4 ohm speakers with an 8 ohm amp can blow the amp. 8 ohm speakers on a 4 ohm amp just reduces the power level that the speaker "sees". It will basically sound about half as loud.

    Bose speaker usage question

Generally, the "rule of thumb" is: 8 ohm speakers will need about twice as much power from a 4 ohm head unit to sound as loud as if they were driven by a 8 ohm head unit. I ran JBL 8 ohm 8" driver home speakers rated for 50 watts with a 100 amp car audio amplifier. They sounded great...

    Rear end

After the 1st generation, Dakotas are six lug. ...and one of the widest axles Mopar ever put under any vehicle.

    Rear end

Just to get this straight- The Dakota changed body styles for the 1997 model year. Are we sure the spline count on the 8 1/4 axles changed the year before that?

That looks like an 8 1/4 to me. You'll probably be OK with that, strength wise.

How many times has a parts car become a builder

I imaging a lot more parts cars have become builders in the past couple years...since prices have tripled. I've personally seen people with very, very savable cars with good quarters and uni-bodies and with titles declare them as parts cars. Often times because they have a similar car with a...

1967 fastback barracuda auction in Idaho NOT MINE

That's a hell of a good price for a fastback body like that. I bet it doubles before it's over. I'd pay three times that if it was in FL.

    Should I buy this 440?

I was gonna say, there's at least $200 in heads, and another at least $50 in oil pan, and fasteners.
  23. YY1

    Should I buy this 440?

Mopar engineers thought dual exhaust was good for 20 HP on a '73 2 barrel 318. How much on a 440 that also had a hotter cam, 4 barrel, and slightly less restrictive manifolds?
