    pulley question

Hey guys, what I'm wanting to do is take my AC unit off for the time being and I'm about as confused about what I need as when I started. I've got a 74 360, AC, PS and i believe what I need is to; 1. Change out alternator brackets 2. Move PS belt from fan pulley, crank, PS setup to crank and...

    Let's put a mild 8.2:1 360 on the dyno.

I would love to see what that motor would do with the 340 cam and the Comp 268 but so far I like the results because it almost duplicates my affordable level fantasy engine build for my car. Thanks for sharing. This is one for the few places where people build engines that have "real world "...

so ive got some money and a 360 yeahhh

Just wanted to thank everyone for great responses to this thread. I've been lurking around here , trying to inform myself before starting my own rebuild and this was helpful. I also appreciate the time some of you spend typing up answers to often repeated questions. Can't believe the price on...

360 partially rounded head bolt help

A lot of good answers. I just had a couple things to add. Since you have no welding equipment, you could use a $20 propane torch and it will help sometimes. Worse case scenario, get a $30 Dremel from Walmart and some cutoff wheels for it and grind the head off.Our local pawnshops have sockets by...

    318 refresh

Holy Cow! Mopar guys are the same everywhere! But will he bring the beer and help you hide a body? That's when the real Mopar guys show themselves. What was said about the ridge is true , it won't interfere with the new rings, it can just make it a pain to get the pistons in. Check and see if he...

    Bringin' it back to life

I've went both ways on several occasions but since this is injected, add some fresh gas to top it off and fire it. You are in Texas so it didn't go through the hot and cold cycles we have farther north so it should be fine. I've always held to the theory gas starts to break down after 6 weeks...

    318 refresh

Not sure in Canada but here in the U. S. you can rent a ridge reamer at Autozone or similar parts store. Honing it without removing it is probably going to screw up the taper in the bore. Anything you can feel with a fingernail needs to go. I think I would have used a ball hone instead of...

    Mpg on a mild 360?

Is there a thread where you describe the reasons you like this cam? Is it one of the old Econopower series? I had one in a 355 Chevy that did well. The only thing I saw with this one is the rpm range starts at 2200.

    do 340 rods wear out?

On the piston end. I would like to put 340 full floating rods in my 360 and found a set for sale but I got to wondering if the piston end usually is ok or do they usually need rebushed or reamed for a bigger pin. And I wondered if all 340 rods were full floaters? Thanks in advance of a response.
