Yep. It's slightly more than 17 inches, so some folks call it a 17 and some call it an 18, but it's the same fan. They're pretty easy to find if you have a decent junk yard nearby. It's about the only fan besides the old four blade that fits my setup.

The 7 blade ones for Volares with AC move a lot of air and are pretty thin. I tried Flex fans for my slant but they're too deep and hit the engine if you don't have at least the stock spacer in there.

If you aren't doing anything to the internals, the two barrel Holley is the way to go. If you're going for an electronic ignition, you should definitely do the HEI conversion.

It depends on the block, but I had .100" shaved off the head and .005 shaved off the block to make sure it's flat and I still use stock pushrods without trouble.

That's what I was thinking. This uses almost the same mounting bolts as the compressor. It would be tricky, but it could be done. I was also thinking of maybe going to the dark side of the Slant and hiding it down low. My friend Ben did that with his 440 truck.
