    Adapting E-body Pistol Grip

Here's a rudimentary drawing of the adapter I fabricated out of 2" wide 1/4" flat bar stock. Hope this helps. The 142 degrees angle is what works for me. I cut and drilled the long section plus drilled one hole for the shifter handle and adjusted it for the best fit. Also if it is to close to...

    Adapting E-body Pistol Grip

Yes it is in neutral in the picture above. It doesn't interfere for my leg, probably due to the seat bolsters on the Rally xl seats I am using. The seat adapters from Procar definitely needed to be modified for them to work for me, being 6' 7" and 250#. A member did request the dimensions, I...

    Adapting E-body Pistol Grip

I made a simple adapter for an E-body pistol grip shifter handle to use on my '67 Barracuda. I have done this before on a '68 340 Formula-s use to own. This one is fabricated from a 1/4" X 2" flat bar stock, and the angle that works best fo me is 33 degrees. I am aware of how most prefer the...

What type shifter plate is this?

I recently bought a 64-65 a833 to swap out the gears into later model trans. This plate was mounted on the early trans it does not look like any I have seen before (Inland or Hurst). It has the number of 9-9006 or 9006-6 stamped on it. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry about the upside down...

swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

No, the flat bar mounted on the side cover broke, and somehow it did not come all the way out of 3rd when I shifted into 2nd. I remember I had to replace the entire cover. May have broken a fork arm also. Not sure it happened 30 years ago. Do remember the slide on a mountain road at night though.

swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

Thanks. I apologize of taking mbaird's tread. This transmission issue is one of many upgrades I have planned. I have been wanting to start a thread about my barracuda and just haven't gotten to it. To many monkeys on my back, and they're now morfing in to male lowland gorillas. Not fun. I am...

swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

I understand your point. Quite a while back I owned a '68 Fb 340 formula s barracuda with 3.07 rear and the 2.66 trans. The cam was not or low end torque, but it was workable. I have talked to the tech's at Hughes and Comp Cam about what I am planning on doing and both told me basically the same...

swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

What I am referring to is am I better off taking the gears out of the older case and using them in the later case and retaining the later style interlock side cover or use the older ball/detent style. Additionally, what synchros should/can I use older or newer? I'm planing on rebuilding the...

swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

I have the same question. I have a early 3.09 a-body trans and late model 2.66 a-body (lever style side cover), and am looking to use with a 3.00 rear axle.

    Strength of a a-833 with a 25 spline output

I appreciate everybodies info on the small spined a-833's. It confirmes what I thought, that mopar engineers saw the need with the intro of 340s and 383s in a-bodys. I knew about the amount of power that can be put through a 904, but its a whole different trans. It looks like am going to spend...

    Strength of a a-833 with a 25 spline output

I have a '67 barracuda I am putting together with a 340, 25 spline 4-speed and a 3.50 9' ford trac lok rear. And I have some fears that the smaller output shaft used on the early a-body a-833's with the smaller 25 spine 904 yoke will handle power, am looking for approx 375-400 hp. should I up...
