    Wow, that looks like it is right up against the steering column. Is it because it is a column shift car or do all steering columns come down that far?

    When I worked on Porsche's we used copper bolts and washers (single use) No leaks and break off when you are ready to take them apart.

    Drivers side will work with no problems. I took one from a 68 Dart and put it in a 66 Barracuda and it worked fine.

    I doubt it, you would have better luck using shorty or block hugger headers. As you know the drivers side is very tight even with manual steering.
