Accurate has the best fitting systems. I have one that I bought in 2001 I think, and it fit perfect. Even today there is no rust on the pipes.

Yep, that will never clear the tank strap. All the bends look nice though.

I have Magnum heads on my 340 with the 69 exhaust manifolds. Yes, the manifold ports are taller than the head's. I made my own exhaust gaskets cut to the OD of the manifold size and the ID cut to the head's port size. Been on there for almost 8 years and no leaks.

There is a port size difference between the magnum port hight and the manifold. The manifold port is longer than the head's port and causes a leak on the bottom of the manifold.

Hey everyone. I have a 340 right side exhaust manifold with a piece missing at the exhaust pipe bolt flange. I was wondering if it can be welded. What type of rod should you use? I can still bolt up a headpipe if I use a washer to span the missing section and it doesn't leak but I'd like it...

I use a WIX 51335 shorty filter with my 340 manifolds. I have to loosen the head pipe to change the filter as was stated. But no 90* adapter to leak. I use brass nuts on the head pipe, it makes it easy to loosen. The shorty filter flows 7-9 gallons a minute so not really a restriction there.

Yep, I had an adapter and it would leak, even after I changed the gaskets.

I wish there was a better way to run stock manifolds and not have to use the 90* adapter on the pass side. I'm doing it with a shorty filter, but have to remove the headpipe to change oil filters.

I have the 69 340 manifolds on my 340 and I'm using a shorty filter and I have to unbolt the exhaust pipe from the manifold to change oil filters. The head pipes are Accurate Exhaust pieces.

Yes, they are the stock 340 replacements from Accurate. But they did what they were supposed to do.

I had no idea that you have to change so much to get the 2 1/2 inch pipe to fit. I thought it was just a bolt in. It sure seemed to work out for you though.

Does anyone know where I can buy 2 1/2" mandrel bent head pipes that come off 68 340 exhaust manifolds? I know TTI makes a set but they have a big dent to clear the torsion bar on the left side. Is denting the only to get 2 1/2 pipe around the bar?
