    Oil change for winter question?

My theory has been to change it before I store it so all the additives in the oil are at the max since it's stored for months. A good way to find out if your current procedure makes sense is do an oil analysis to see if you should be changing it more often. Vintage engines don't run as clean...

    Let's see your first A-body!

1967 GTS Dart. Got it used when it was 1.5 years old and I was 19. My first car. Original owner bought it from Mr. Norm's. Still have it. Have build sheet and Mopar historical paperwork.

Can this be correct??? Duster weighed.

I found the scale weight. Total car was 3460 and the front axel was 1920 for the 1967 GTS Dart with a 4 speed and bucket seats. I wasn't in the car, stock steel wheels not light weight aluminum, Spare in trunk along with any cruise stuff and probably a pretty full tank of gas. 383 is around a...

Most popular tach in the 70's and other stuff

Speaking of radio/sound stuff I forgot I had a Sony cassette deck that mounted under the dash. It's still in a box somewhere. Built like a battleship.

Can this be correct??? Duster weighed.

Last time I weighed the 67 GTS it was 3200+ don't remember the exact number and I misplaced it 383 is 100 lbs more than a 340.

Most popular tach in the 70's and other stuff

Still have a flex-a-lite glass fan somewhere. Didn't move enough air so put a stainless steel flex fan on. Still using it. The tarantula manifold I still have on the engine.

Great article on owning a muscle car

I agree with a lot of the comments. A lot has to do with the person driving. My first car at 19 was a 1967 GTS Dart that was 1.5 years old with a 4 speed, manual steering and manual brakes. I still have it. A car magazine editor told me that was a lot of car for a 19 year old. Maybe but we...

Collision shop for a repaint? Just don't do it.

I took the Dart to a shop i have gone to for years. He does repairs and usually has a project car around. He used it as fill work but charged me less per hour and it took about a year. Periodically I would pay him on the present progress so I did see it was progressing. Paying periodically...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Took the Dart out of the bag end of March to work on it before cruisin starts. Change radio speaker out for a better one, led's in rear tail lights, led's in dash, had shop put the original pig back in the rear end now everything is original in the drive train, switched regular 80W90 out of...

    Match Race 1972 ~ 'Road Runner/GTX 440' vs. 'Buick GS 455'

Back in the early 70s I raced a 455 GS that looked like that post photo with my stock 1967 GTS Dart and had a passenger. When I shifted into second gear I pulled 1.5 car lengths on him. I remember being surprised at the time since he had a 455.

    Mopars 1968 '383 Engines'

I have an earlier GTS (shipped from factory 2/27/67) and you can see the pie tin in my photo gallery pic of the engine. It's a replacement but I have the orignial which is identical.

    Mopars 1968 '383 Engines'

I have a 67 GTS. Saying they struggled to get over 4500 rpms is accurate. I use to say it didn't breath well at the upper rpms. At one point in my youth I put in a cam that had twice the overlap and eveything else the same with Rhoads lifters. Made a noticable difference.

how about a new bullitt movie remake

I agree with you except for one remake. The Italian Job. I saw the remake which was pretty good. Then I found out it was a remake and got the origninal to watch since the originals are usually better. I couldn't finish watching the original one.

Went to Mecum today saw a GSS Demon

It's probably a fair price for what I saw when I was there the first day. Engine wasn't redone, engine compartment wasn't repainted with the rest of the car, there were a number of small details he overlooked, I didn't look at the undercarridge or trunk. Now the yellow GSS was beautiful...

So I was wondering around Mecum's October auction in St. Charles, Il. I haven't seen a Mr. Norm 1971 GSS 340 six pack Demon. There were actually two there. Both were really nice. One had a Volo Auto Museum sticker on it, here's the link to see it...
