Hey Kev, it's the 9th Crosstown car, the 11th '72 overall with the 2 Pembina versions. So, pretty interesting, eh?

Whoa! You are the owner of the 9th Swinger 340 Special know to exist! And sounds like this one stayed pretty darn close to the Drayton Valley are since it was bought back in '72 from Crosstown - how illusive is that? There are a number of '71's and '72's from your area and know one knew of this...

I'll keep my nose to the ground. That was one sweet version of the Canadian 340 Specials. Not sure if you know, but your old EV2 that went state side is up for sale, along with the 2nd Pembina '72 that so far only exists - it's a Y1 3 speed car.

Yeah, wouldn't it be great to get that one back - especially that one, got to be pretty much a one-of-one with that colour and only 25 of the 340 Specials out of Saskatchewan. Here's what I know and hopefully someone can add to this story... I know the guy who bought it off you from Calgary...

Hi Garth, I always sent people with questions to the 'now defunct' 340swinger.org site, but it obviously didn't get the traffic to warrant it being kept open (right Adam?). I guess I'm going to have to get on one specifically for the Canadian 340 Specials, eh? But in the mean time, here's a...

Ahhhh, so that was yours, eh? We e-mailed a couple times and sounds like a good guy that just never had the time to do anything with it. It's still in Regina (the map on the site you got these pics from was showing the head office of the site in Calgary), unless, like you say, it sold. He was...

I have one. It has been sitting for about 18 years. vin LL23HR2676XX (last 2 left off). Now the bad news. I bought it when I was 16... Garth! Whoa! This is awesome - a brand new one - been awhile since a fresh one popped up. We were all sixteen and could live forever (along with these cars we...

Grant, was going thru some older emails and came across a message from the guy who owned the only know Pembina car (so far) who turns out to be the guy you talk about here. The reason I know this is that he sent me a pic of his 70 Swinger convertible - dang. Thought there might be the second '72...

Hey Moopa, awesome. Yeah, that one of the 25 Crestview Regina 340 Specials, wish we knew where it was today, hopefully still alive! The Ritter car is in Southern Manitoba now, still pretty much original and still the first one off the line of the 25.

Chrisf, sorry, I didn't remark on this question earlier but a '71 that was relatively clean and somewhat original went for $18K just recently and a '72 in your back yard (BC?) with out running gear went for under $6K so I would say that's a pretty good buy? Is that the Kamloops car (this one is...

Mark, it definitely is/was a Crestview, Regina car and is now the second EV2 version we know of (or it maybe the first, might be the same car - this one/ other one is now in Vernon, BC - you said you sold it back in Saskatchewan, maybe it's following you:)). Crestview cars all got the molding...

The status of this 4sp W1 '72 Swinger 340 Special is that it is very restorable and is complete except for running gear - engine and 4 speed tranny are gone. It is an original Edmonton Crosstown car and was found in the Quesnel area of central BC and is now down around Mission in the hands of a...

Hey Grant, thanks so much for your comments and just so you know, you may be on the trail of the elusive 'Pembina Dodge' order/gift for '72 only. I have only been able to find one of these cars, state side. I have talked to the owner of Pembina Dodge, an Ike Vickers, who does in fact remember...

Hi Adam, no, this is another one, '72 Edmonton car – found in central BC but now down around the lower mainland – BC (British Columbia) is mountainous and all moisture pretty much drains down into the Fraiser River and comes out around Vancouver and that whole, large population, pre-delta area...

Moopa, that white '71 340 special is now in Verdin, Manitoba and is still pretty much original – it was the 1st Crestview 340 Special, of the 25, to come off the assembly line for '71. We're debuting the first restored '72 Swinger 340 Special on August 8th at the Red Deer Mopar show. I...

Hey Chrisf, I'm new to this site/forum and am very interested in more info on these 'couple' 71 Swinger 340 Specials you have known/know about. What part of Western Canada are you from? There are 2 of us (me in Alberta & Dale in BC) that have become the unofficial historians on these Special...

A clone is pretty much as close to a real one as anyone will get because they are so rare. It is a fact that there were '65' Canadian ordered Swinger 340 Specials to 2 Western Canadian dealerships but as everyone knows, these cars were driven into the ground (young drivers could afford them and...
