Hey Joel. I don’t think you’re on Instagram, but I posted your 2 340 Specials on the swinger340specials page - lots of love, well over 120 likes and a number of comments. One comment was from Dave Rea (x of Graveyard Carz fame)... simply said ‘Sweet!’ Fun little FYI

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

I'll hold it to you Marvin, haha. We were planning on visiting family in Switzerland, as my cousin lives in Birrhard, just a stones throw away from Schinznach, but with this world sh*t show called Covid19 happening, it probably won't be until next year. A few years ago I had the opportunity to...

Dan R said it was the best body of the '71 340 Specials he had seen, back then, so glad the bottom is still good... enjoy :)-

Missing Linc... interesting and yes, if you could follow up somehow that would be awesome. So, as you thought it was a '71 version of one of these cars and being that it was blue, that would be a 'NEW ONE'. We have never found a '71 Blue 340 Special and would in all likelihood be a Crestview...

Hey, hey, hey Joel - glad to see you starting your '71 Crosstown Swinger 340 Special build string here - will be great seeing the progress and the in's and out's of these ultra rare little Western Canadian only order 'H' code Swingers. As everyone might know, the Swinger 340 was discontinued...

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

Hey Danny, thanks for updating things here with the production numbers of these '71 and '72 Swinger 340 Specials - not a huge change for the '71's but yeah, our '72's, and especially your Pembina 'swooped' car, really got a haircut, eh! And yes, trying to set something up with Bob - I'll tell...

Saw it live on Saturday and I can tell you, the pics don't do it justice!!! Awesome build buddy. Great debut at the Red Deer Mopar Meet.

Hey Dave, Danny and everyone else who's tuned into this 'Danny building a rare Canadian 340 Special' thread - which by the way is amazing!!! His attention to detail (overly in some cases, haha) is truly over the top, I couldn't even think about going there. Kevin (scatpacker) who essentially...

Look at you go, now that there's a deadline, haha. Sorry. Looking awesome bud!!! So, seeing your jute, and I see that's it's quite a bit different from the 'vinyl' floor version, here's what mine looked like, I repaired my original and placed some of the 'supplied' jute underneath (super wimpy...

Danny. OK, as mine isn't really, really done - and they probably will never be, but that second (back) splash shield under the hood, all my clips broke so I've never put it back on - did you save your clips or did you get new ones somewhere?

Look at you guys go - on Saturday anyway, haha. Having the engine and front suspension in place, now that's a milestone!!! Looking real good.

Look at you go! Nice. So, when you repaired the little screw holes in your cluster, what and how did you get the wood grain back - was that a new skin of it or something? And yeah, love those cardboard headliners and sale panels - nice work there as well.

I hate that after a week or more FABO stops sending prompts on the treads you comment on... I guess I should check a lot more because I missed a lot of your build here Danny. I thought you were sick or something, LOL. I'll do better.

Hey Danny, the tranny's were pretty marked up by the factory, with big stampings, inspection daubs, markings etc., and those do exist. I didn't go down that route on my 3sp tranny... would have had to order a number of custom numeral stamps, paint etc., so left it iron :)-

Hey you, how's things? I'm standing proud, large and in charge in front of it! Haha. And Diane's back at the hotel but she video'd me and Tim leaving, she was pretty excited (ask Susan to show you on FB). When I got back we went paragliding - yikes!

Wow, what a ride... I was blessed with the opportunity to this, in a place I've only dreamed of doing it. Prior to going to Switzerland, I asked and arranged with Tim on FaceBook (Facebook Mopar friend) to meet up in Interlaken where we went ripping up and down the lakes and thru the villages...

HEY DANNY!!!!!!! Wow, leave the country for 3 weeks and look what happens! Wow buddy, that's looking awesome. And Dave, yeah, what's up with FABO, seems if you aren't on it for a few weeks it doesn't give you notices. Was talking with Kev and said there were pics so checked it out, nice. And...

Looks like your giving it your best. I need a project! Dave. That Danny is the best. Patience of Jobe with the **** load of 'get 'er done - the right way.' Haha. So Dave, you need a project, eh? What would it be? Your handle is 'no, it's not restored' and looks like you've had a few of those...

Hey thanks Dave. Will keep my eyes open... interesting on the V code listing, and that these supposed never built Roadrunner(s) and Charger(s) got these coloured ECU's. 1972 had some interesting anomalies, eh?

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

Dave. You Rock. Thanks for that information. Sounds like it will be a real tough time to find an NOS version, but will keep an eye out. With your car built a month or so before these Crosstown Motor City cars, we know what we will keep our eyes out for. Danny and Joel's cars were built a month...

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

That would be great Dave. So, what you're saying is that this one would have been made in December of '72 (3462), for a '73 car? If that's the case, would be great to know the original # made for my May 11, 1972 built Swinger 340 Special. Danny's was built on June 16th. Maybe yours will be...

Danny, you'll be running into this, as I am now... Does anyone know the original part number placed on the Electronic Ignition Module (ECU) just under the wire harness 5 pin plug. Dave, did you have the original ECU in your Duster? This is a pic of what might be an original that I had and hoped...

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the Swingers were made at the Windsor Plant in '72 (as were a lot of Swingers in the '70's), and some were made at Hamtramck, so I'm thinking the Windsor cars didn't get the undercoat on the firewall. I know all Demons and Dusters got. As for the 676, that'd...

Thanks so much Dave. Timely, as the 'Kevinator' is smoken' along with the engine install on mine. And yes Danny (and other '72 340 owners) - glad we found this out before we all got too far along, even tho it would be a somewhat easy change but better to make right first - so again thanks Dave...
