    273 4 barrel manifold questions

Will only consider a D4p if I find nothing else, then will post it here for sale or trade, hate modifying good parts anyway. Guess you answered my question about strretmaster as I have a "streetmaster 318" in the garage. Thanks again Aaron

    273 4 barrel manifold questions

Will be going to swap meet this weekend, and will look for sp2p or ld4b(preferable). What should I look at as far as condition, modifications, etc. Found this for port size, is this right 1966 - 1967 {273} Casting #2658920 Heart-Shaped Combustion Chamber Factory CC...

    273 4 barrel manifold questions

Another question. Would aftermarket intake be better, because it would open up carb choices? Kind of like the idea of period piece, as I have a set of cal custom valve covers(with the box listing applications up to 1973), not too worried about originality, cause I can always go back to the 2...

    idle speed issues

Got my 67 Dart aligned today, took it out for a test spin and on startup it idles fine, but after drive it doesn't return to idle(sorry, don't know rpms, no tach). Everything seems to be hooked up correctly(kickdown, springs etc) Playing around with it, and started it and it idles, put it in...

How do I check fuel pressure? Even thought it is a stock parts store replacement I wondered about that. Thanks Aaron

    carb leaking

Had it rebuilt by a local mechanic that was highly recommended. I got wondering if it is the float or something as the top of the carb(where the accelerator pump goes in) was wet and if it was the gasket leaking it would just be wet from the gasket down, correct? Sorry, I'm not very good with...

    carb leaking

Yes, first time since the rebuild, As far as I know it is the original carb. Forgot to add it also has a new replacement mechanical fuel pump.

    carb leaking

67 Dart, 273, 2 barrel. Started it to time it and the carb is leaking, can't tell if it is around the top gasket as the top of the carb (above the gasket) was also wet. The carb was rebuilt a couple years ago, but never ran. Looked down throats and it was dripping inside(couldn't tell from...

    Fuel line replacement rant!

Got the brake line in, same mentality, make if fit or brake it! About half way it seems like it was bent backwards, so I had to do some rebending, but it went pretty smooth. Luckily I am just going to clean up and reuse tranny lines, so shoulsn't be any issues there. Aaron

    Fuel line replacement rant!

I got it to fit, just had to have the mentality that I will get it to fit or brake it tring. Tonight I am doing the rear to distribution block brake line.

    Fuel line replacement rant!

I bought an adapter for the brake line. I have never had much luck with doing double flares. Then again I was trying to use the $9.99 flaring tools, I have always lusted after the $300 hydraulic flaring tool, but just have never been able to justify it. Looks like the line to the left front...

    Fuel line replacement rant!

Yeah, thats where mine went, I just didn't explain it very good. The tracks in the undercoating looks like it went between the trunk floor and where the top of the tank just starts to roll over. Watched a little tv and went back out dropped it down and bent it around some, and got it to fit...

    Fuel line replacement rant!

Working on replacing my fuel line (tank to fuel pump)with The Right Stuff ordered from jegs. Have it pretty good up to where it goes under the frame by the rear end. Where it hooks to the fuel line to the tank is about 2 inchs to far to the center, and it is just touching the shock. Judging by...

pcv valve, how to tell if it is bad

How can I tell if my pcv valve is bad? I put pre 67 valve covers on my 67 273 and have to use that cap with the metal pcv. I have 2 of the metal pcv's both used and will reuse one of them, until a time I can find a new replacement. Thanks Aaron

Early unsilenced 2 barrel air cleaner

I would like to use an early slant six air cleaner on my 273 2 barrel, did any early slant sixes come with a two barrel? I am talking about the unsilenced air cleaners, similar to the 273 4 barrel air cleaners. What years slant sixes had these air cleaners? I have a chrome mopar performance...

    How to store carburator

Got my carb rebuilt this summer, thought I would get the car done and the carb reinstalled late summer, WRONG. So now I am wondering how to store the carb, to keep critter and bugs, and water( the garage roof leaks) out. Been thinking of finding somekind of sealable plastic container, am I on...

    Pump to tank line

got it off with very few problems, pulled passenger side wheel so I could swing it out to the side, and had to tweak it a little to pull it through the crossmemeber support(or whatever the part of the frame is that it runs through). Yay, one less new part I have to buy!

    Pump to tank line

Started adding up my wish list and have found that I need to trim it down some to meet my budget. the front to rear fuel line is one thing I am thinking of reusing. Is it possible to remove this line without destroying it? Or should I leave it in and just leat them paint over it?

What color should my carb be? and air cleaner Q

Just got my carb back from being rebuilt, and wondering what color it should be original. Right now it is bare casting. Oh yeah, 67 273, 2 barrel. Might polish up a pair of Cal Custom valve covers (circa 1974 according to the box) and trying to think of a air cleaner, have a chrome mopar...
