    63-66 lets see your wheels...

Here's mine with the Rallye's on her. They are painted light blue. Hope to change them out for a set of Cragar's, but I may change my mind.

Help me decide what COLOR for my '66 Vert!

I'm not seeing Orange as a go to colour, but that's just me. I've always liked the light yellow on a 66, like this one.

1965 Valiant 100 parts interchange questions.

Welcome Deegan, The windshield should fit. Are both cars post cars? If so, then the doors may fit. You'd have to double check the body lines as I don't have pics handy at the moment. Just re-read your post. Do you want JUST the door panel inside? I'm picking up a '65 Signet parts car, if...

'65 Dart body part interchange questions

I think that you are stuck with '65 Dart fenders. If you can find a '65 Valiant from Canada, then you may get lucky. I'm sure the American Valiants are different. Probably the same for the doors. Here's a Canadian Valiant, and a US model.

That counts me out, it's not the original engine. :angry7:

My 65 Dodge Dart GT Journey

Good job, Cory. I checked my wheel covers, they are 13", but they are Plymouth ones. They've been up on a shelf since I bought the car. Never looked that closely.

First and last vehicle produced for 1965 models!

Hi Ulf, I have no broadcast sheet, nor fender tag. Is there a way to tell the build date from just the VIN?

My 65 Dodge Dart GT Journey

That emblem is the same as the keychain that I have for my car. I've never seen another one like it, nor have I seen anything like it on a Dart. Are your rims still the 13" ones, or have they been changed to 14"? OK, I went back and saw that you still have 13's. I'll see what mine are. I have...

My 65 Dodge Dart GT Journey

Nice lookin' ride. I don't think that I've seen one in powder blue before. There are lots of us here with cars like yours. Don't hesitate to ask questions, that's how we all learned. Your car seems to have all of the outside trim, so I'm not sure what the part that you found may be. Post it...

Nice score, Ulf  I wish that I could find one in decent shape. Or at least most of one.

    A904 to 360

OK, I'm learning stuff here as well. As far as I know, the engine in my '65 is actually a '67 from what I was told. So really there is no difference as far as the tranny fit goes. I assume that the tranny in my car is still a '65, again it doesn't seem to make a difference. But the 408 is a...

    Engine paint for early A

I'm going with the stock red for the 408, just to make it look kinda correct. I was at the Dodge dealer yesterday, and they won't/can't get in individual cans of the red spray paint. I'd have to order a box of a dozen. Anyone what to go in on a box?

Updated SPITFIRE HEADER INSTALL 63-66 A-body

Sadly, I paid up front. But, that was thru an eBay auction. I didn't know that they were coming from Harold. I assumed that it was someone who chose a different route for their car and was just selling them off. Luckily, I didn't pay retail.:bootysha:

And at least a six month wait, maybe more. I'm still waiting since mid-September for mine.

tell him ,he's dreaming! 66 dodge dart??

Just a note, we didn't change from MPH until maybe the mid-late '70's. So it could have been a Canadian built vehicle. But I'm leaning more toward the Mexican thing. And that is one bad quarter.

    Tach Placement

Thanks for the replies, guys. Ya, Toolman, that's exactly where mine is now. But smaller. It's just too hard to see. Maybe I can fabricate a bracket for the steering column. 20-odd years as a plumber/pipefitter, I'm sure that I can come up with something.

    Tach Placement

So, where do you mount a tach in an Early A? The previous owner of my car mounted a 2 1/2" tach under the dash, below the radio. It's kinda hard to see, past the steering wheel, and my hand/arm. I don't want to mount it on top of the dash, don't want to drill holes. Got any pics of yours?

    65 Dart Owners Reply

Hi 65DartCharger, I don't know for sure if it is an original "Commando" car. It is originally a 273-4bbl car, but it now has a '67 engine. Don't really care, cause a previous owner has changed it too much to be an original, anyway. I do know that it'll be real fun with the 408, tho!:-D

    65 Dart Owners Reply

Nice ride you picked up. I've never been a fan of convertibles, but sure do love the lines of a '65 Dart. Mine is a Dart 270 with a 273 Commando/904, soon to be set aside and replaced with the 408 Stroker =P~ that I'm building in this winter. Still looking for an 8.75" for her.

    Parts for winter install

I now have the rotating assembly for my 408, so it should be going together sometime in the next month or so. Just need to figure out what I want for a cam, and heads. Still waiting to hear about an 8.75" housing that another yard has, then I can get the axles and pumpkin. Have the frame...

    spare tire/rear panel

Mid '90's Camry's have a 4.5" bolt pattern. 88-01 Mazda 626, MX6 96-01 Rustang 93-97 Probe 93-97 Intrepid, Concorde, Vision 94-96 New Yorker 95-00 Sebring, Avenger 87-88 Dakota There are others, but these are the most common ones. And these are all 15" spares.

    Rampage Dart!

I'd give my left nut for that car! It's gorgeous. Or for that matter, Funnycar's Dart is just as nice, from up here. :love7: I'm picking up a '64 for parts for my '65, maybe if it's in good enough shape I'll change plans. =P~

    Early A intake/carb combos

I have a 273 with an Eddy Performer, spacer( 3/4" ?), and Eddy carb topped by the stock Commando air cleaner ( 3" element? ) in my '65 Dart. Probably not much clearance, but it works.

    65 2-post mirror location

While I will assume that MeMike's car is original and correct, the '65 Darts that I look at and collect pics of for reference, all have the mirror farther forward. I don't have any reference for Valiants, but would think that they'd be the same. My Dart has the mirror in an incorrect location...
