LA engines have 5 bolt valve covers, polys do not.

Just an FYI, there is no such animal as a 64 273 HP motor, that didn’t come out until 65. Check the front pad under the drivers side head. 64 would have no letter date stamp, 65 would have an “A” then the displacement, 66 would be “B”, and so on.

Could also pop one of the valve covers and see if it has the adjustable rockers that all 273 engines had. But, I would clean off that pad on the front drivers side block, just under the head, and get the numbers there. You can rule out a 64/65 engine by simply looking at the intake bolts, a 1/2”...

Spitfires are not fenderwell headers, they are stubby headers that terminate above the torsion bar, not even underchassis. I have one of the first sets directly from Harold, and have been running them for years. Not the best header, but better than manifolds. .

I’m running T-4 15/40 in my Roadrunner, due to its high zinc count. It has 72k miles on it, and I don’t think it hurts it a bit.

Are you using distilled water? It could be lime or calcium deposits from regular hard water. It could also be electrolysis as mentioned above, from dis-similar metals mating against one another. It happened to the Statue of Liberty, it can happen to us!

Let’s see, you’re running a 6bbl setup, and you’re worried about gas mileage? Something drastically wrong with that on every level!

-20btdc seems a little early. I always set mine at -12btdc, but I’m sure it will fire and be adjustable from there.

that’s not a chunk missing, it’s the rough edge of the weight. You can see on the one next to it that it is sort of ramped to a ledge, the one next to it going the other way. I suppose it could be cleaned up, but may change the balance if you did.
