    Racing Fuel

The new store here in Pinckney has 110 VP gas, and my car is loving it. We’re about 20 min north of Ann Arbor. The Sunoco station at Territorial and 23 stocks 110 during the summer, that’s about 5 minutes north of Ann Arbor. I would call first tho, to make sure they have it.

Im roasting in my car, ideas to cool it down.

Although not race car related, I can speak to the cooling vest. Nella wears one at horseback riding, because she also wears a neoprene vest for trunk support, and gloves to protect her hands, and she get very hot in that outfit. We freeze her cooking vest and put it in a cooler and I put it on...

    My first truck pull

That’s one of the company trucks, they had a bunch of them there. I think they help run the show, I know they do work all around the surrounding area. Yes, it was in Remus, I plan one of my work weekends at Wheatland around the Heritage Days weekend, so my crew can go up town and have some fun...

    My first truck pull

Saw this at the Heritage Days festival in a little town up north of me. It’s a sleepy little town, but they all come out for the truck and tractor pulls. This truck had no problem pulling the sled right out into the parking lot, not even revving his engine. Beautiful truck too!

Question for you street guys running low 14’s

I think she’s doing just fine, and relatively consistent too, which is what is really important. It appears that she is getting comfortable with the car, which is a big plus as well. Is she manually shifting and running up the rpms on the brake at launch, or is she letting the trans shift at its...

    Parts rant

I went to Alro to pick up some steel plates I was having made for a project up north. Ordered them first thing in the morning, had them by 2:30. Seems they’re not short on my item

    Parts rant

Called Legendary to see if the seat cover prices have gone up due to the limited supply line for soft products, the first thing the salesperson told me was it would be 27 weeks before they could manufacture one, didn’t even have to ask.

And Another One Bites The Dust...Goodbye Milan Dragway

now, I don’t want to spread any rumors, but I believe the pawn broker is one of the cfo’s on the board that is trying to reopen it, in an effort to recoup their losses. I also heard that the selling side of this whole deal will not sell unless his daughter is on the new management team, and she...

And Another One Bites The Dust...Goodbye Milan Dragway

I was just at Onandaga on Saturday, man does that track need some work. Big turnout for the swap meet to raise money to open the doors tho, so that’s a very big possibility. Only 1/8 mile tho, and that shutdown looks really rough!

And Another One Bites The Dust...Goodbye Milan Dragway

Yet another casualty, Milan Dragway in Michigan has closed its lanes for the final time. There is much talk as to what’s going to happen with it, but it’s sold and changed hands. So we in the Mitten are left with Stanton and Martin, both a pert fer piece from the bog city. Both very nice tracks...

Need a few suggestions....Plugs? Oil? Trans Fluid?

Not a problem. Mike is one of the few old school guys left behind the counter of any auto parts store, and he has all the old books and knows how to use them!

Need a few suggestions....Plugs? Oil? Trans Fluid?

I’m in Pinckney, and go to the Pinckney store. If Mike is there, ask him to help, if they don’t have it in stock, he’ll get it there by morning.

Need a few suggestions....Plugs? Oil? Trans Fluid?

I get mine from Advanced Auto, if only because they have it, and because the counter guy has been there for a couple decades and he is old school.

Need a few suggestions....Plugs? Oil? Trans Fluid?

I wouldn’t break in that engine with synthetic oil, I would run the Brad Penn break in oil for the first 500 miles. I also run type F trans fluid, although Dex3/4 is also acceptable. I just answered this in another thread somewhere... I had to have my trans removed by my trans guy due to his...

1/4 mile times with 3.23 gear

14.06 in my old 67 GTX, bone stock through the manifolds, in the heat of the summer, in the heat of the day, at the Mopar Nats. That was on BF Goodrich 15” tires and Magnums, straight out of the fun field. I thought it did pretty good

    Best year(s) 904 for a street/strip car?

The 66-67 904 does have a front and rear pump, if that makes any difference. And the converter debacle is easily overcome with an annular ring.

Most hated question about your car?

Would you be interested in a 64?? There is a super solid 64 up here in Michigan that comes with a 360, 4 speed (the car was a 3 speed so the pedals are already there), Brand new LBP discs and an 8 1/4", all of the interior parts are there, it's in original paint, and it comes with the rotisserie...
