    traction bars?

the typical "slapper" bars are not much good unless they are adjusted so the rubber bumper or snubber is close to the the spring or in contact with it at all times. Competition Engineering has the bars with the "J" hooks that allow you to adjust the pre-load on the bars for this, ran them on all...

    traction bars?

i've never had any problems running 90/10's on the street, but i don't take corners fast either and i like running 15x3 1/2's too on the front, maybe it's just a personal preference. i was planning on doing the spring relocation on my '74 and mini-tubbing it so i could run some good sized...

    traction bars?

the thing i never liked about the pinion snubber is that when it's set on it's most effective setting it's right up against the floor nearly. cruising on the street it get's a bit "bumpy". if you drop it down for "daily" or street driving you lose it's advantage should the need arise. with the...

    traction bars?

i have to disagree with the mindset that traction bars dont work on a Mopar or are a waste of time. i have had 2 Darts with Southside Machine bars on them that planted the tires quite nicely. my first '74 with a 383 they worked awesome and now my '71 with the 360 they do the same. i searched out...

    Southside Machine lift bars

i finished installing these bars the other day and last night was the first time out with them. same results as with my '74, they work great! you can feel the rear end lift and push the tires into the ground on launch. with my current BFGoodrich Radial T/A's it still spins, not as much, and goes...

    two inch drop spindles

i have my '71 down as far as it will go now, with about 1/2" clearance on the bumpstop to the frame. i want to go lower, so will using these spindles get me down there where it want it to be?

    max tire size

the gas tank is in the trunk, i have a 12 gallon fuel cell in there. it's alot of fun watching people when i pop the trunk to fill up. gotta come up with something creative and usefull for the old filler hole. the back of my car is going to get lowered as well, those long shackles are coming off.

    max tire size

i ran 26x8.5-15 Mickey Thompson ET Drag's on my '74 Dart in the stock wheelwells. they were mounted on Ford truck 15x7 steel wheels. my current '71 Dart has 255-60-15's on A/R 15x8 Outlaws in the back. the fit is perfect and they dont rub at all, but then i dont turn corners very fast either...

    max tire size

if you move the springs and mini-tub it you can fit a 325-50-15. i have some pictures from a local track of a '67-'69 Barracuda with them under it. it was from the pics and the information i learned from the car owner that i decided to do the same to my '74 Dart. he was running 15x10's with...

    lowering

there is a trick where you can flip the front spring hanger over to lower the rear of the car. i have never tried it but it has been discussed before, so it shouldnt be hard to find someone who has done it. i'm not a fan of lowering blocks at all on any car with decent horsepower, so i wouldnt...

    lowering

i lowered the front of my '71 Dart as far down as i think you can go and it's probably too low. i have maybe a 1/2" of clearance between the bump stop on the frame and the control arm. it still rides very well , but on big bumps, it hits hard. this is my second Dart that i have had this low and...

    Southside Machine lift bars

i know there are alot of traction bar haters in the Mopar community, but i have just bought my second pair of Southside Machine lift bars for my '71 Dart. my first pair was on my '74 Dart. i think that they work very well and on my '74 they pretty much stopped any wheel spin. since they clamp...
