    What size carb for new hemi?

    Most folks tend to over carb. Something in the 600 to 700 range will work well. I have 360 and have tried 600, 670, 725 and a 750. The 670 is by far the best all around, it provides the same top end (as measured by the butt dyno) as the bigger carbs and the great throttle reponse of the 600.

    FWIW, I get 21-22 mpg in the Cuda with a carb'd 360 A833OD and 3.55 gears at 70 mph.

    The 4spd is an overdrive unit, I am only turning a tick over 2000 rpm at 70 mph. I tried a bunch of different carbs. The Holley 3310 750 got about 16-17 on the hiway. The Holley 670 Street Avenger I am using now picked up 5 mpg.

    EFI is definately the way to go for economy but I wonder if the cost of EFI will ever be recouped in gas savings. A well sorted out carb can get awful close to EFI numbers in regards to economy.

    Why not stroke a new Hemi? There are all sorts of stroker kits out there for the new hemi now. The more popular stroker kits give you 392 cid or 426 cid of displacement. The one question no one has asked is why not stick with the 360? The 360 is a great motor in an A-body very easy to get...
