What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

So I likely will not be seeing him next month? Did he run RVW or LDR?

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

There is a Berracuda running in one of the fast classes too that used to be a blower car but it looks like he went to turbos. Do you know any details on that one?

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

I’ve never built a sbm to failure but I was planning a 700 hp build two years ago. I saw enough evidence on here to convince me that my block wouldn’t live long at that power level. I then talked to two reputable builders and both said the limit for a sbm is right around 600/650.

Was that in a factory iron ford block?

Unless your 408 combo is a Ritter block or a race block I’m afraid not.

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

If there was ever an engine built for making insane horsepower it is the hemi. I hear there’s some guys in the NHRA making a little more than 1000 hp with an aftemarket Hemi block and a blower :)

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

Jason Digbys limited drag radial Dart is putting down closer to 2000 hp but he is running heads from Indy that are nearly $20,000 I believe. It can certainly be done...just not sure I would do it with a small block.

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

Not sure if 15 grand is going to cut it for 1000 hp unless it’s an LS. MIGHT be able to get it done with a gen 3 hemi but to be honest I don’t know a ton about them. Usually that means some pretty trick stuff. There is a guy on here with a twin turbo hemi that is 1000+ hp but I can’t remeber...

What do I need to do to build a 1000hp turbo small block

This comment is the best so far. You’re standard LA and Magnum engines won’t take you anywhere near 1000 hp. Build a gen 3 hemi and even then you will still need deep pockets.

    1000 hp 340?

From what I have been reading on the 5.7 the head seems to be the week part when you start throwing boost at it. Seems like most guys are switching heads.

    1000 hp 340?

I am really getting more and more interested in these gen 3 builds. Seems like it could be some decent compition for the LS and Coyote guys.

Big blower on a small block.

The heads said Indy w2. I’m not to familiar with Indy parts but I’m fuessing that’s similiar to a w2 but aluminum. The intake is from The Blower Shop, that’s all I know about it. This engine was sitting in the room where engines are assembled actually. The showroom had a few engines...

Big blower on a small block.

It was some sort of aftermarket balancer. I don’t know much about this engine but it was sitting in the shop this morning. I’ve just never seen a blower that size on a small block.

Big blower on a small block.

Saw this piece this morning and figured it belong here. W2 heads and a race block is all I know.

Potential twin turbo build, looking for injection advise

Are you guys planning on using the stock block for these builds? 550 horsepower will be safe on a stock block but when you start turning that boost up you will be taking some serious risks. I looked into this for a while and it ate me up trying to decide. I knew I would want more than 600...

i know you pay for what you get...

Without a race block you may as well throw that money in the trash.

    Paxton on a 408?

In my opinion with the power you are already making I would not use the the blower. A safe hp gain would only be 50-75 hp and even then with the high compression it is a gamble.
