Pictures from a car show (8/22/09)

Check out the hacked quarter panels with home made flares on the duster. I was tempted to do that on my '71, but never could bring myself to cut the car up.

Pictures from a car show (8/22/09)

I drove out to Batavia with my wife, and checked out a car show. Here's the few Mopars I saw. My wife though it was funny to snap my picture right when I stopped to take a look at a (fake) melted sundae cup on the dash of this '57 chevy, so I made her pose near some camaro she though looked...

Where to get a loan for a pro street vehicle?

We have a friend who owns the place, and the wife covers the monthly payment. Like renting with benefits. I'm still hung up on this deal, as the guy has 11K in the engine alone. Hmm..... Calling it a pro street is kinda wrong as well, it's a drag car really, but has mufflers, and lights, so...

Where to get a loan for a pro street vehicle?

My daily driver is a '99 Dakota sport 4x4 so it's got almost no book value. Don't own the house, so I don't know how to go about telling them they should give me a loan to fix it up. Hmm...

Where to get a loan for a pro street vehicle?

My buddy wants to relocate, and I could buy his pro street car for 1/3 of what's in it. Anyone have experience trying to swing a loan for something like this? Mike

    Deadbeat buyers rant

I've had lots of deadbeats, and lots of luck selling online. I tried to sell my '76 duster that was a CA car with no rust, a beautiful interior, 3.91s in an 8 3/4, and a fresh 413 swapped in. Couldn't get a single person who requested more pictures, and beat me up on the price to actually show...

The sales records from Barry Dodge in NY

I still go to the summer car show at Barry Dodge. Drove my '76 Duster when it still had a 318 in it to the show three years ago. Nice friendly cruise in type atmosphere. I get out there almost every year! Glad to know the records are getting shared with the possible owners.

    bad guy alert

I'll say that the Mods should just delete this thread. I feel I came out pretty good in the wash, but someone who just reads the first page, and then (Like myself) gets bored with it and never gets to the end here, would make me look pretty bad. I didn't even know about this at first, so you can...

Actually, you did. I think you bought a narrowed 8 3/4 housing I had that was A body width with the perches moved in to be inboard spring width, right? I recall it was $175. I sure hope you got it. That was quite a while ago.

    bad guy alert

This morning at 6:30 he claimed he would post pics, and let everyone decide if they are what I say they are. I'm waiting.......... I try to only visit certain sites online to avoid this exact type of stuff. You must understand, I am a man of my word, so I feel slighted.

More than anything I want this resolved. If I actually sent you something you can't use, send them back, and you'll get your $ back. Check these measurements, and then post a picture if what I sent you is different. We'll go from there. Anyone here can feel free to E-mail me at...

    bad guy alert

How about someone post the dimensions of the U-bolt holes, and we clear this up before you actually send me back the right parts. I took these off a pre '73 8 3/4 axle. (My '68 300) They will work with 8 1/4, 8 3/4, and probablly 9 1/4 axles. As long as you don't have the '73-up iso mount type...

I wanted to drive home the point. I know 3" axle tube shock plates. I don't have anything here from a 7 1/4" axle. Last one I had I threw in the dumpster at work in the late '90s. You send me back MY plates, and you'll get all you're money back. I'll eat the shipping costs.

First off, I don't get E-mail notification here anymore, and I've talked to the Mods about it. They think it's something to do with my server. Also, posting this before contacting me is BS. You have little credability here, as you are new, and I know for a FACT that what I sent you was my last...

    Empty garage.

I can dig it. That's the only reason I sell my cars. I'm down to just three cars and a truck (Ramcharger). Maybe I can get a credit card advance. If I can come up with $5K, my buddy will throw in a Dodge Van. I feel the shakes coming on, and need to purchase more stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

    Empty garage.

Congrats on the sale! I always sell to fund another car that I just can't live without. Then immediately regret the loss of the one I sold. I soold my Cordoba and got the 300. I miss the 'doba. I'm trying to sell the blue duster, but I've had it since 2002, and will miss it if it sells. How far...

    Duster in the Terminator movie?

Today at noon they're playing the TV edited version of Terminator (the first one), and I can't pass up watching it. Roughly 7-8 minutes in, when the main good guy, not Ahhhhnold, is running naked from the cops through a back alley, he rolls across the hood of a car that's screeching to a stop...

    Duster Dream

I just found this thread. Have one of the members near me come to checkl out my '76 Duster for you. I've met Rumblefish360 before, but he's not very close to me. 1973swinger has the 8 1/4 out from under this Duster. Ask him about the body. Mike

    s/b alternator bracket photos?

This is good timing. I just bought the Proform small block alt bracket, because out of all the cars I've parted out small blocks weren't in high numbers. The current set-up on my '76 Duster is from an AC car, and the belt doesn't align well. Cool.

What year for 1st feather weight?

Met a guy who said he had two dusters, and one was a '72 feather weight. I know the twister package was out by 71-72 but when was the 1st year for feather weights? I thought it was later, and this guy sounds full of it. He's one of those guys whos' car never lost a race, and always pulls the...

    b-r/b swapfrom 318

Throw in a 360, or just nitrous on the 318. With a safe tune, nitrous is not going to blow your engine. (assuming it's in good shape)

    Scam Alert

This is why the BBD site is closing the classifieds. Sucks that the douche bags have to ruin it for all. I hope this doesn't lead to this site loosing it's classifieds.

    Al Bundy's Car

I always thought it was a late (post '73) duster. I hated that they always called it a dodge, but the car actually changed as they went from season to season. One episode it was a '70-'72 duster. Cool to watch the show just to see the car, and Kelly, of course.

    Wiw??...

Well, the good thing is people seem to like the 'cuda bodystyle. I paid $2500 for one of my dusters that was a complete running /6 car from CA. I paid $900 for my other one that was from NC, and only needed floors in the front. I'd say you're closer to the $900 car unless you include the 440 IMO.
