That is a great thought and thank you for this lead. My trans has less than 1,000 miles on it and I have been dreading getting rid of it. Plus like you said this route could avoid a lot of future hassles.
That would be badass but I take my Corgi Dog (Chong) and my wife's large pit bull/chocolate lab (Izzy) with me and I wouldn't want to risk them shoving the trans into a different gear going down the highway. That's why I am really wanting to stick with a dash shift on the left side of the...
Thank you for the tip and for the kind words. I figure I would have decent luck finding a 64 small block cable trans at a salvage yard that time forgot or a swap meet. I have also considered using the dash shifter that was in some of the older trucks.
I will be ordering the adapter from you tomorrow so that way I have it on the shelf. I know there was a small block push button 904 in the 64 and 65 darts but I know other mopars had to have them as well. I'm honestly surprised that there isn't someone that makes a conversion kit for the /6 904.
Yes I will be doing the swap to my 64 Dart 270. I have put a lot of thought into the transmission and I will use a column or floor shift if I have to, but I would love to keep the push button set up.
I have grown tired of hunting down basic parts and performance parts for a /6. After talking to a member on here (RustyRatRod) I have decided to just do a swap for a 318 or a 360 for the ease of finding parts and for the wider selection of performance upgrades. The other member helped me out...
How much ae you currently asking for it and does it run? I have a friend that lives in southern cali that has been looking for a good dart since I bought his. My friend is in riverside cf which if I remember right is about an hour and a half to two hours away from you.
Classic Industries doesn't carry a whole lot of parts for these cars. I have spent oer a year looking for everything to get mine restored and I just recently gave up and decided to trade it off to a guy in Austin TX for a 47 Jeep CJ2A with the original flathead motor and trans. The taillights...
I'm still looking for leads on slant 6 performance parts. I'm trying to locate performance pistons for a bored. 40 over block, dual exhaust set up, aluminum 4 barrel intake, over sized valves, and anything else to pump more power out of my 64 /6.
I didn't see any performance parts in the for sale area. I did read the post about the buy out and I saw some parts there I'd want if they was ever made, especially the DOHC 24 Valve head set up!
I have a 64 Dodge Dart 270 2 door with a/6 and push button trans. I'm needing help finding sites with after market body parts, engine performance/dress up parts, and trans performance parts. If you know of any sites or if you have any parts let me know.
I'm getting a 63 Dart 270 4 Door in at the end of the month. I'm only taking a few parts to finish mine out so I'll contact you and see what all you need and we will come to a reasonable price for parts and shipping.
By combining information from wikipedia, allpar, and a couple other sites I was able to find out what I was curious about. Thank you to everyone for the help.
My car is classified as a 64 Dodge Dart 270 2 door sedan. What does this mean and does anyone know the difference between the different classifications, or can someone provide a link to a site that has this info on it.
