    225 /6 to 360v8 swap help

I did it in my 74 Swinger. It really isn't that hard. I bought a conversion kit from Schumacher Racing for I think about 100.00. It comes complete with all the hardware and very explicit instructions on how to do it. I had never done it either and it only took about an hour to read how and...

Sweet. I will try and find one tomorrow. Thank you for the compliment. It is going into a Swinger for my wife to run at our local track. She wants the car Pink Camo so the engine compartment is pink also and the Burgundy ties it all in with Hot Pink wires. Should look pretty cool.

    302 head question

So 1.60's is what I have been told to use. Is that enough or should I go with the bigger ones? Will .10 or .125 really make that big enough difference for the expense? I guess I am asking is the bang worth the buck here for that change?

there is also a number 4 cast on it too just like your number 5 and the J is the same in size and location. So from what everyone is saying, IF I understand it correctly, the casting number is definetly 302 so that is what I must have. I tape measured the intake valve, I know not very accurate...

    302 head question

Ok everyone I am totally confused. Today we started cleaning things up and while my wife was cleaning the heads of her 318 she asked me what does this J by the last spark plug hole mean? I went over and looked and sure enough there is a J there. I thought that J castings stopped in the mid...

    /6 to 360 swap

My Dad did this swap in his 74 Duster and bought the Schumacher kit and he did it himself with NO issues at all. He swears by that kit. I will be getting the same kit when I do the swap for my Wife's 74 Swinger too.

    Head Casting Question

Okay, I was just there and I don't see any difference in them except that the 302's are listed as fast burn. I know that there are differences in them as I can see them. And I also know that there is a difference in the swirl porting from what I have read here on the site or do they both have...

Opening Cast Aluminum Valve Covers for PVC Grommet

I had the very same question on the set that I got for my 383. I was worried about the whole hammer issue too but I called them and asked them about it. They said that it was prescored and would not take much effort at all to get the hole cleared. so I took a big punch and reluctantly tapped...

    Head Casting Question

Hey I stumbled onto a set of heads for a very good price, FREE. I am trying to figure out if they were worth the effort to go and get them and use them on my 318 for my wife's dart or to use them for boat anchors. The last 3 in the casting number is 973. Keep in mind that I have the stock set...

    big block head castings

the lowest I had was 105 and that was on just one of the holes. it seems to run ok and it is for a driver and an occassional trip down the 1/4. It has headers, performer dual plane manifold, 600 Edlebrock carb.

    big block head castings

So I have a question that maybe someone can verify for me. I have a 66 383 that has head castings of 2406518 I recently head that this was the worst head that Mopar ever made that I should think of upgrading to a 2780915. Has anyone else heard of such a thing. I have new springs, valve seals...

    318 Cam

So I was reading another thread and heard that the MP cams are not what they used to be and to look other places. Is that correct as I am still trying to figure out what cam to use in my 318 also. Since I have found out that it has a stock roller in it now I am really confused as to what is...

    318 Cam

there is no break in ??? Wow. so if you were going to suggest a roller cam what would it be? I plan on having a 2500 stall and doing the 302 heads with 360 exhaust valves and a good clean up job on the ports like everyone suggested. Basically leaving the lower end stock for now until she gets...

    318 Cam

Okay so here is a question, I just found out that my 87 318 has a roller cam in it. Do I need to change the roller lifters, and push rods if I get a new roller cam? Or can I use the same ones?

    318 Cam

Wait a minute, I have been reading and trying to learn as much as I can about this 318 build and ask questions when I see it is relevent to my situation and now is one of the those times, see 318 horsepower thread for my situation if interested. I was lead to believe that a stock 318 only had...

    318 horsepower

Since I was the one that originally started this thread I figure that since I have been quiet reading the masses and learning a whole lot I should ask a similar question as I still cannot find anything in writting any where to answer that same question about mine. My 318 is a 1987 and came with...
