LOL Roth has NO performance records,so I guess that was a waste of time. You must build some real serious stuff. LOL You got some tips for me?? LOL I just hang around the winners in many classes.Yes,we made the field at Lights out V at SGMSP. You?? My personality is fine with folks face to face...
LOL sure they did when they were in diapers. They quickly figured out what most are missing, but I'd never ask them for performance tips. fiberglass work yes,but nothing else.
I disagree with this post to the core,it leads most to poor results. Yes,I'm aware that magazines have insisted it true. I love those guys as they are there to sell a magazines to the gullible. I have many experiences(not based on the net or a magazine, lol) that prove this is BS if you test it...
Depends on the RPM range of the unit . Yes,1 5/8" is small unless your stuck with restrictions. That camshaft is tiny for any HP so maybe the tiny headers are not so far off.
With the stock pistons the milling and such is a big potential problem. Check this if you follow the posts on the net to determine you won't have a big mess.
Composition head gaskets compress over time, even without heat cycles. That means a retorque is needed. To prove it to yourself just torque a head or 2 and come back a few days later.. Shim or steel type gaskets don't have the same issue.
Yep,if it's class legal, and after testing shows gains you might as well do it. I've found large gains in stuff that is NEVER brought up on the net and minimal gains with stuff that gets lot's of attention on the net. guess perspective is the key.
No replacement for displacement, except gear, converter, lower weight etc. For a street build cubes are good even with little to no HP gain, then build it right and things are bliss.
started doing it about 20yrs ago. Is there magic in this swap? NO! Of course if your running a solid valvetrain you need adjustability, but for a simple hyd setup I wouldn't waste the time. Recently (for a customer) went from the factory rockers to a very sweet set of Crower stainless enduro...
A couple of things to think about. All chevy sb rockers are NOT the same length,be careful to determine if you will have issues with your setup. Crower has a nice rocker that seems to fit well although pretty pricey. A couple of years ago I installed a set of 1.7 Crowers on a friends 360 magnum...
18degrees dist = 36 crank degrees. You need to fix the timing first then fix the carb. Shorten the slots to get around 22 crank degrees and use the factory light spring with an aftermarket light spring on the other side to start. After you get that sorted out you can turn your attention to the carb.
There should be no resistance when turning a cam by hand without the aid of anything but 2 fingers, resistance fit is not accurate. If I have any doubts I blue the bearings install the cam dry and rotate it a complete turn. Check the bearings and correct as you will. I haven't had this problem in...
The cam bearing bores should be checked first, most blocks need work in this area. Measuring bearing to cam clearance as your pic does not work as the cam bearing is compressed when installed in the block. I've only built 1 sb mopar(out of 30plus) that I had trouble and had to scrape bearing to...
