If you follow my posts, I like putzing around with stuff. Try something doesn't work go back to what I had, maybe later I'll try something else later. If I get hung up I throw it out there for some feedback and comments to see if I can make it better. I won't run a crappy carb rest of summer but...

There's a carb shop in town and he keeps telling me a 500 is to small, but I don't listen :) The best this car ran was when I had a Eddy 650 AVS 2 on, great acceleration, ran great. But I kept thinking I don't need a 650, I rarely get over 4500rpm. All the calculators say 500cfm or less is...

Summit carb, based on the Holly's I believe. Vacuum secondary

Dropped a 500 Summit carb on my mild 318 to try out. When I accelerate aggressively around 3200 -3300 rpm it seems to be starving a little. If I back off it's fine and can cruise down the road with no problems. Adjusted fuel pressure up a little from my Eddy. Not sure if changing secondary...

Have a 02 bung already from earlier. Don't want a permanent one in car just for test and tune then throw it in the drawer till next time. Is the cable long enough to run from under the car through window?

Any one use a Air Fuel gauge for tuning at home? And if so, is it worth it? Last question, is there one that you recommend that's not super expensive that works?

Every once in a while, and only when the engine is warm. When I restart the car I'll get a little pop or back fire thru carb, not all the time. 318, mild build, auto, 600 Eddy with electric choke. Planning on finishing Route 66 this Sept from Chicago to Kansas where we started last fall going West. We were going to do it this May but the weather was terrible so we pushed it back to fall. Hope you'll follow us

Had the Dart out a couple of times today and it really does run pretty good. My trouble is every couple of years a see something new and shiny and think I should shake things up. Going to stay the course with what I'm running now. Maybe this winter I'll get the itch again :)

Currently running a 600 eddy on a mild 318. Runs fine but wondering if a Speed Demon 625 might give me a little more pop plus better mpg then my 600 eddy. Just looking for some feedback before making a decision. Currently I get a little over 15 mpg on trips, 3:23 gears. Thanks for any feedback :)

How built up is your 318? I'm thinking the 650 is more then I need for my 250hp 318. I'd love to hear your engine numbers before I make a decision next Spring. Thanks

Talked to a local carb shop that that tried the 650 and they loved it. The 500 isn't out yet but should be in a few months (I've been told). I'll check them out next spring.

Anyone tried or heard any reviews about the new Edelbrock AVS2 carbs? I'm thinking about dropping down to a 500cfm carb next Spring on my 318, thinking it might be more efficient. Currently have a 600 Quick fuel, motors about 250hp.

I also used APT for my dash and sending unit, very pleased with the results. I live close by so I just brought my stuff over to them.
