    69 Dart/Barracuda 340/383 tail pipe size?

I agree that stock ones were 2.25" and the tips fit inside the tail pipe. I have got to think that if you have an NOS system with pipes that small, there has to be some sort of an error. NOS stuff is not always what it is cracked up to be. A lot of people don't know that NOS parts can be WRONG...

Knocking noise after new exhaust gaskets

That was my first thought. I can't imagine not hearing an engine knock before changing a gasket, and then hearing it afterwards.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

IMO, Headers are worth at least 20 HP over stock 340 manifolds.

    Headers hitting idler arm

I thought that one of the main reasons for paying BIG bucks for TTI headers was that they fit so well.

E body exhaust into A body

Although I agree with @toolmanmike when he says it won't fit, I also agree with @408 swinger when he says it might work if @Nirvana's Fab skills are good. I believe I could do it. I might need a few extra feet of 2.5" pipe (straight and curves), but I think it might be doable.

    Question for fenderwell header guys/gals

Dude, that's what filler is for. The welds do not have to be "invisibly smooth". When I weld in a patch panel, no matter how good of a job I did, it still needs a little filler. After welding in a patch or a whole panel section, I always grind the welds a smooth and flat as possible, and then I...

IF YOU ARE GOING WITH A SMALL BLOCK, REPAIR THE DAMAGE. THE INNER FENDER WELLS ARE A STRUCTURAL PART OF THE UNIBODY DESIGN!

    Welding ground...don't do this!

At least those gloves were on the right feet. Let me tell you about all the times I have welded with tennis shoes on, and a hot spark, or chunk of spatter, hit the fabric area in front of the laces. Do you know what stops those hot sparks? Your skin!. They burn right through the tennis shoe and...

The BEST Way I Have Found to "Paint" Exhaust Manifolds!

I must say that looks nice. If you did a seriously good prep job, that should last a while.

The BEST Way I Have Found to "Paint" Exhaust Manifolds!

The stuff I am using is a liquid. I spray it with my touchup gun. The problem with doing the inside of the manifold would not be getting the paint in there, it would be cleaning the surface to bare metal.

The BEST Way I Have Found to "Paint" Exhaust Manifolds!

I know there are a lot of ways to protect your exhaust manifolds and headers, and I am not trying to disagree with anyone who has had good luck with spray can products. Let me show you what I believe to be the BEST do it yourself process and product there is. I have been powder coating for about...

Turbo Pro Muffler - Optimal Flow, No Drone, No Resonance

Although I have no way of knowing how the Pontiac's motor is built, It sounded kind of quiet to me. Do you have any videos for the Race Pro or Street Pro? I looked on your website, and could not find one.

Turbo Pro Muffler - Optimal Flow, No Drone, No Resonance

@ColdCaseJoe: I have a 69 Barracuda with a 340 that is modified to about 370 HP. It has 15 year old Turbo Mufflers (Dynomax I think) that I got from Advance Auto for $20 Each. The car sounds Awesome with these mufflers. Fairly loud, but not too bad, and the idle rumble is great. They are...

    Jet hot coating

Call Jet Hot Coatings. I had the same problem. After about 10 years (or so) my Jet Hot Coating started to look pretty bad. I called them up and told them I had no proof of purchase. They said that they scribe a number on each part and told ne where to look. Once I gave them the number, they...

    What to paint headers with?

Agreed. I have tried a lot of paint on headers over the years. NONE stay on. I don't care what the label says. About 15 years ago I used this Eastwood paint. It lasted for several years. Take the headers off and have them blasted (if you can). Then CLEAN them THOROUGHLY and paint them. When...

Where to get TTI Headers Recoated?

Jet hot in OKC did mine about 15 years ago. A few years ago, I called them up and said they needed to be done again, and asked what the cost would be. NO CHARGE. Lifetime warranty. Call them.

    Easiest headers to install?

Here is my input. About 25 years ago, I got a cheap pair of Headman headers on my 69 340 Barracuda with PS. They were a pain to install, and the steering linkage does go through the driver's side tubes. Actually, the passenger side went in fairly easy; the driver side is the treat. All I had to...

    Exhaust tip inlet size

For some reason, Ma Mopar decided to stuff exhaust tips INSIDE the tailpipes. I always thought that was strange. I don't know how much of an affect that would have, but it seems to me that choking a 2.25 inch exhaust down to 2.0 or slightly less could not have been good. I bought some stainless...

    69 340 Barracuda exhaust.

And the exhaust tips went INSIDE those 2.25 inch pipes. The inside diameter on the tips was only about 2". That will restrict the flow.

Anyone with Hooker Heads, what do you run for plugs and how do you run your wires?

Sorry, no picture, but I use 90 degree boot for 5 and 7. I contacted ACCELL and told them what I needed, and they sent them to me for free.

Does denting your headers cause a loss of power?

LMAO. And to think, I stressed out about making a small dent for my steering box.
