    1969 a-body wiper motor

Hey 69DarttoArt, do you need me to post the schematic I found? It actually shows the motor internals rather than the wire line diagrams.

    1969 a-body wiper motor

I think I figured it out. My 1973 service manual actually has the schematics for 2 and 3 speed motors. The park circuit is inoperative on my two speed wiper motor. The resistor is supposed to be in series with the low speed. Using some jumpers, I found that of the 4 spade connectors...

    1969 a-body wiper motor

My painless harness went in great, but they refer you back to the original harness for more than a few things. I don't know where I put the engine harness I took out. Does anyone know how to hook up a 1969 two speed wiper motor? The original switch has two output wires, the motor has a...

    aftermarket guage dash pics/ideas HELP!!!!

The speedo was from the parts pile. If you look real close, the four red guarded switches don't match each other either. The first two are from the power distribution panel on the flight engineer's station from a TWA 727-231. The other two are cheapie Chinese switches from Napa. Actually...

    aftermarket guage dash pics/ideas HELP!!!!

Here's mine. I spent 20 years in aviation, so it's aluminum, painted wrinkle finish, and has individually removable panels for ease of maintenance.

    Painless Wiring

A call to painless got things straightened out. The problem was in the way the hazard switch was wired. Hazards worked fine, but when the directional or brakes were selected, they backfed through the hazard wiring, and you got: hazards. Not really my fault, when pressed, painless told...

    Painless Wiring

Your reply got me thinking. The steering column wiring is one of the locations where painless lets you fend for yourself I think that a miswire here will produce the problem. It'll be a few days before I can check it out

1969 Dart - Fusable link HOTTT!!!

Leaving the key.in "off" heats the ballast? How does the engine shut off when you turn the key to off?

1969 Dart - Fusable link HOTTT!!!

Actually, if that short is in the power to the resistor, it would overheat the fuse link, and cause the car to die for lack of voltage to coil

1969 Dart - Fusable link HOTTT!!!

That ballast resistor is bypassed with the key in start. When you release the key to run it drops the battery voltage to roughly half to allow the coil to run cooler. If wiggling the lead changes the problem, change the resistor. Its a cheap troubleshoot and you should keep a spare in the car...

    Painless Wiring

This is a duplicate I posted in Members Restoration, forgetting that there's a wiring section. Waiting for painless to give me some suggestions, this is what I posted to them, hoping someone here has some ideas too. Hi all, It needs to be said that I've been working on installing this...

Painless Wiring harness for a 1969 barracuda

Bought one, and it's installed forward of the firewall. Aft of the firewall, not so much. Any advice? The wiring diagrams that came w/ the harness are not the greatest.
