17 years in the Barn - Need new knowledge

Guy around here ran a 69 440 dart in B/stock. Some people don't realize how hard it is to run the index. Ran this for years in Super stock I, 383 4spd.

Should be ok for short trips, it's going to sound really snotty. I would use a 4000+ stall converter for better road manners. What rear gears are in it?

Had them on my 383 in my race car. Are you sure your pistons are a tenth down hole?(that's a lot) I was running flat tops that came .020 out, witch is factory.

    Phantom Knock

Thats why I was thinking piston rock, because of the short skirts on the stroker pistons, and him saying that it goes away fast. How much clearance is there on the thrust bearing?

    Phantom Knock

Sounds like piston rock to me. Whats the side wall clearance on the pistons? You get that on a lot of strokers(not all of them but some)with short piston skirts. Could also be a converter bolt or flex plat bolt but those would be more constant.
