Swap a plug hole to hole and a plug wire see if it changes. Change out the intake gasket, need a good seal to trouble shoot further. Where in Colorado?

That's a pretty tame motor. Aluminum heads will help along with a little more cam. You didn't say what converter you have.

Run the 452s just a 906 with hardened seats. Are you set on running the 509 cam? Tour going to need a good converter with it. The 284--484 would sound snotty and run fine with flat tops.

shift points? stall on the converter? Are you getting full throttle?

Just found a 4966s in my parts shelf that is set up for that bushing, not in it though.

I have six or seven AVSs here, nothing like that in any of them. Could that be something that was put in there when the screw striped out.

All of mine have a screw and a spring, that screws into a tab on the side of the carb.

Just use a good non OD 833 for an A body. Should be good to go.
