Car fired up and running. Lightly ported my intake. Didn’t go as far on the heads as others but did significant work and 3 angle valve job, plus having 1.88/1.60s in them. Headers. Car is an entirely different animal. Runs good and I’m pleased. Thanks for the input everyone.

Yeah it definitely would have been neat to see. I don’t intend on flowing these once done. Bolting them on and seeing how the car does. Guess I’ll find out at the track.

The hard edges in the bowls from casting/flashing I removed and I opened the area up quite a bit. Sorry, pics are limited.

You say the valves are 1.88/1.60 but aren’t multi angle? Got me thinking cuz I have stock cuts on my 318 heads. Same size lol.

Ok good to know. Have you done the exhaust side yet? That’s my next step. Then bring to the machine shop as I can’t do a valve job. Have my springs checked out and see if they’re right for my cam, change the bad valve and guide I have, etc. thanks for the direction!

I’ve been reading and need to know what is meant by short side radius and pushrod pinch point. Sorry this is the first time I’ve touched heads. When I had my engine rebuilt 15 years ago I had the long block done.

lol all good. Yeah I already pulled the valves and they didn’t have extra angles put on them. I could double check though, but on my old heads I had a 3 angle and saw it clearly. I’m only 32 and still have good eyes with glasses

Alright so prior guy did 1.88/1.60 valves but didn’t cut them down into 3 or 5 angles, just stock cut but bigger than factory 1.78/1.50. You’d do a 3 angle on it still? Just want to make sure I’m following.

I don’t have a flow bench so I guess I won’t know what I do end up with lol. Just will see in my time slip lol
