what year is your column?the 70 didn't use the pop up pin,it used the other shown in one of the replies so your's probably doesn't have the hole for the pin.just a thought.

there's a small tab on the switch that keeps it from turning and they break off.very common but you will have to pull the switch to fix it.

i have one for a pick up and the wires are much shorter than a regular a body.just my 2 cents worth.

the replacement switches come with that plug.it's not used except for later cars with side blinkers iirc.just ignore it.

that happened to me once a long time ago.horn only and nothing else.turned out to be a bad amp meter in the gauge cluster.hope that helps.
