speedo cable 65/66 Dart 4-speed question

The trans is not the slip-in yoke type. I mis-typed on the slant 6/904 (not 67/904). I pulled that cable from a 65 Dart but it was different. Thanks for the confirmation on just replacing the inner cable. I wasn't sure if it was possible because I'm not sure how the end piece on the trans...

speedo cable 65/66 Dart 4-speed question

Thanks Dartman, it is definitely unique. The cable I pulled from a 65 slant 67/904 is different and incompatible with the one I currently have with the 4-speed. That came out of a '65 GT. I just don't know if I can use a universal cable and cut it to fit my application.

speedo cable 65/66 Dart 4-speed question

No, it doesn't screw on the trans. side. It is not the push-on type either; more a larger pressed fit type with an o-ring.

speedo cable 65/66 Dart 4-speed question

Need to replace a bad speedo cable in my '66 Dart (the end separated on the dash side). I have a '65 A833 4-speed out of a Dart. I've seen a lot of ones at local parts stores and online that say they fit, but aren't the same. Pulled one out of a '65 slant 6/auto Dart, not the same. The only...

No hassle headers for 66 dart w/360?

Reading through all of the posts on headers in a 66 Dart is discouraging and convincing me that the best option is keeping the 273 exhaust manifolds. I am not willing to give up PS so the rare 340HP manifolds won't work. Not cutting up the fenders. But have a 340 and 360 in the garage waiting...

    66 Dart wheel question, carb/iginition

Thanks for all the posts, I've found a local guy with a few A body 8.75 setups, drum to drum, and a wide gear range. Just waiting on the price...which has me a bit worried. 3.23 or 3.55, not sure which to go with. I have a 3.23 in my Charger which is pretty universal for town/highway. I think...

I know the answer is probably here in the thousands of pages but

I just put on a disk brake conversion kit on my '66 Dart. It was a Wilwood for the original 9" front brake setup. Going with the 5 x 4.5" setup and in the process of getting a 8.75 rear end to complement the back 5 x 4.5" and some more beef (probably go with 3.23's).

    66 Dart wheel question, carb/iginition

I have a '66 Dart convertible that I bought a Wilwood disk brake conversion kit for and am having installed. The mech says that he doesn't think 15x7 American Racing Torq-Thrust II's will fit. I've searched some threads but couldn't find a conclusive answer. Anyone know? I am also looking...

    Early A Ragtop thread

Some great cars here! I bought my Dart in '94 and have had it all over the country and Germany as well. It currently has a 318 w/ a marine 4-bbl carter setup and Hurst 4-spd. Fun car!
