i used to cut those corner sections (that part with the nipples) from the LA gasket, placed them where they normlly belong and trimmed them to be flush with the pan arch - a litte dip of rtv and put the one piece magnum gasket over it... voila: no leaking

no - it will not fit...beside the fact that they are casted totally different, simply look at the gaskets, magnum and LA waterpumps do have a different rotation direction

yes... it has a noticable idle but not to extrem - 850 rpm and it´s running fine, very good throttle response

made the first start up and test drive last Weekend.... if you have the LA-Stuff (timing chain cover, waterpump etc) you can simply switch it from the LA-enginge to the magnum only need are new gaskets and the cam-snout-extension to run the mech fuel pump. just done it last week if not ... i guess you can get all the stuff needed here on FABO for...

short update... driver side: if you have an early a-body mount you can use it, i only needed a 0.075" washer passenger side: the magnum block has different ear lobes compared to a 273/318 LA-Block, so lower lope on the rear is missing and instead of that, it has one on the front side...

normally the slots have different forms at the top - one is square, one is round and one is shaped like a triangle - and therefore you can find the corresponding stamps on the sproket - and as magnummopar allready wrote each one stands for "0", "4* BTDC" and "4* ATDC".

hi Folks... Looks like i´m a bit fucked up now... as i mentioned above...the stock cam out of the 5.2 is trash... so i took an other used cam, which was offered my from a shop here in Germany for about 100 euros. now as i have this in my hands, i just took measurements as the shop-owner...

okay - tossed the 1102 spring thing... as i cld. get a set of HUG 1110 with matching retainer etc. for a decent price

Thanks mickec, looks like i would also go with the complete Hughes package. Guess it will be the easiest way to get all parts machting.

@ Marcohotrod, it's not about the springs itself. It's about the retainers. I'm just on my way to build a mild 5.2 magnum. And when it comes to the point to upgrade springs to use a bigger cam than stock, you may als get to the point, that you will need retainers with an other diameter...

Hi Folks, maybe the next dumb question, but as Chrysler Engines are not so common in Germany, i´m in need of some help. most of those who have done the Magnum swap and running bigger springs on the Magnum heads recommend to use the springs from 2.2 or 2.5 Chrysler engines. and now...
