    Engine Stand

It may be a little smaller on the upright, but if those braces are any good it probably has a lot of strength. The steel in that upright looks as large as what was used on cars for frames.

Bought some property and a shop.

Graphite based lubricant sorta gray/black looking. Turned into a bunch of deposits in the engine. Leaked out of everywhere, pretty much a total fail. I once put it in a '73 350 Impala...rpm's went up 300 but I wasn't impressed.

Anyone else keep an eye open for old tools? I picked up an OLD circular saw for $20

Much better pic. Maybe it has a roller bearing in an oil bath. They built stuff to last back then.

Saws of that type are usually direct drive. Let us know what you find.

Anyone else keep an eye open for old tools? I picked up an OLD circular saw for $20

My guess is if it takes oil it would only be a couple of drops on the saw side bearing. Maybe 3-in-1 or some furnace type oil. But I don't know for sure. Is there a button that locks the shaft to ease blade changes?

Anyone else keep an eye open for old tools? I picked up an OLD circular saw for $20

I collect mountains of old everything. Just picked up a pile of saws, drills, grinders, knives, kitchen stuff. I have bikes, hand plows and cultivators, trains, slot cars, speed stuff, 2 and 4 cycle oil, hand tools, slot cars, cars, matchbooks, lighters, kegs and barrels, lawn mowers. I need...

    garage insulation

I'm not 100% on what you should do. Does the building even have a ceiling? There is probably insulation that can be blown right on the walls. It would be a good insulator and fire proof. I think before you do this yourself you should call an insulation contractor. More than likely they can do...

^^^Exactly. I got one new one (garbage) and hope to rebuild my own or have it replaced with something old from now on.

    lowes Kobalt tools

Does it really make a difference who returns a broken tool? The second owner is just doing what the first owner would be doing if he still had them. Good tools get passed down from generation to generation. That's why we buy them.

Question - about painting the garage exterior

Maybe wash it to get all the dirt off, then paint when its not real hot and the humidity isn't too bad.

Cheap insulation. Is there such a thing?

A contractor could blow in good insulation for less than you can buy the rolls for.

I have a list that is literally pages long. I am very tempted to just burn it. Then I can spend all winter sharpening pencils for my new spring list.

    24x30 garage

If you have to redo the siding your probably around $2600.00 just in the vinyl panels. About $900.00 for asphalt shingles if the roof is ten squares. 2X6 frame is a plus.

    bought my shop a present

I bought another tool box a few weeks ago. Tools everywhere but none in the box yet. It tried the Menards 11% bag trick with an $9,000.00 cabinet order. Didn't work.

    Walking away??

Why would I spend a hour (at $32/per say) looking for a .99 screwdriver. Long as it isn't in the engine compartment or somewhere it can do damage, I'm fine. And besides, I know where all of our lost tools are, they are hanging in the closet disguised as coat hangers.

A buddy of mine poured brake fluid all over the car and squeegeed the paint off. I stripped my Charger with no chemicals at all. Lot of sand paper.

    Wagner power painters...?

I have a Paint Crew. You need to keep a couple of the outlet orafices on hand as the cheesy plastic piece wears out from the high pressure. It was fairly cheap, and the sprayer was of fair to good quality. I went from days of roller painting a newly drywalled house to primering entire house...

    good penetrating oil?

WD 40 isn't really for getting into rusted threads. Try deep creep or PB Blaster. There are others that should work for you. Usually the alternator bolts aren't that difficult, just a little tight and sometimes hard to get to. Tapping gently on the head of the bolt will help the oil to...
