Well I am not a great tec but I would take the points out and go with an electronic ignition and then of course headers. Someone here will jump in and help you with an intake you should use with a stock came shaft. Or was you going to change out the cam shaft? Allot of our tecs are...

My best et was so long ago. 73 4 speed 340 Callenger with a/c and 3/23 gears. Daily driver Bone stock and left a 71 chevelle in my J stock class two cars by half track and ran a 9.02. Can you say, Deep stage 00. Ok I got a good light. The chebby guys had to lift my hood and look for headers...
