Post up your Early 64-66 Barracudas!

That is a thing of beauty. Australia really missed out. The only two door we got back then was the ute.

    Front quarter vents?

I have found Year One have replacement front quarter vent weatherstrips for early A 'verts and hardtops - does anybody know if the seals would suit my 1966 four-door? Otherwise, any tips for repairing my quarter vents? the wind noise coming off them is a real put-off at highway speed! Cheers.

Post Early A-body wheel/tire combos here

The following model ('VE', 1967) was the first fully Australian designed Valiant. Well, it still takes a lot of US cues, but . . . The VC (mine) was a very short model run and is very much loved here for its unique style. It used the small early A floorpan while the VE stepped up the...

Post Early A-body wheel/tire combos here

Thanks. This is my fourth '66 VC Valiant - three white slant six sedans (blue interior, red interior and now brown interior) and one black V8 'goon. It's funny, 'cause I would KILL for a matching '66 two-door - Barracuda or Signet. I've always loved yours! The only early A two-doors we had...

Australian 1966 VC Valiant. Be nice, she is an early A-body. New Maxxis MA1's. 185/75's on front, 215/70's on custom 6" rims on the back (sitting nice and snug around 1/4" away from the leaf spring).

Right, that's it. I'm sooo telling the Ministry of War and Finance we're getting us one of them US 2-doors! Preferably slant 6 auto soft-top. Alpine White, to match our 67 VC Regal. Wish me luck, fella's.

    Feeling pretty proud!

now that's wierd. didn't i reply? saying i keep knocking my knee on the damn steering lock and i'd be happy to remove it? and then someone asked me if the engine still leans to the same side. i was going to post back 'nah, we have to run the engine upside down because we're in the southern...

    Feeling pretty proud!

yes, it is a steering column lock. that'd the only option the first owner actually got - he never put a radio in or anything. i'll get more pics up soon. we normally run her with moon discs at the car shows, but i'll take some with the dog-dish caps on too. and yes, for us who drive on...

    Feeling pretty proud!

Just wanted to share how nice the old thumper's looking. You'll recognise her as a variant of the US 1966 Plymouth Valiant. the rears are stock rims that have an extra 3/4" on either side to hit 6". so i've got 215/65's on the rear without going deep dish or hitting the inner...

Post Early A-body wheel/tire combos here

dear me, i hope i haven't offended anyone by posting my Aussie '67 VC (which is based on your '66 Valiant). i had thought, since it is officially an Australian model that ran mid 1966 > mid 1967 and was replaced with the much larger VE model that i was in a welcoming community . . .

Post Early A-body wheel/tire combos here

hey big al, those 215/65's are a taller sidewall than stock (185/75), aren't they? i'm hoping i can cram some 225/65's in under the lip of my VC sedan. the higher final drive would be good for highway cruising, and keeping the traction under control at launch. the biggest i could fit on...

    '65 or '66 dash switches?

ok, so our '67 VC vaiant (sedan, wagon or ute) seems to use the same dash knobs as your '65 (and '66?) plymouths. so can you help me? does anyone on your side of the pond do new one pole three position wiper switches? i can take detailed pics, but ours are simply a rotary switch grounded...

i get it. you're so lucky to have the early two-doors. we only had the sedan wagon (safari) or ute (wayfairer) in the a-body. but the utes are hot. two seats, no weight over the rear still not as hot as your coupes though.

    63-66 Valiants

this is an awesome thread. here in australia we didn't have the a-body two-doors at all. here's my latest pride and joy - a (67) VC valiant - had her two weeks now. one owner, 67000 miles, stock /6 225. will remain a /6. going for a hot 6.

    rat or not to rat

she's a beauty. i wish we had some of those 2-doors here in oz. oh and tnt cbody, you're right - i shouldnt tailgate when i'm running drum brakes ha ha ha. no, it was a power pole wat bit the sedan in the nose. and it was a sales rep who ran a red light and took out the wagon. i'm...

hiya. the VC was an australian valiant model - 66 and 67. it followed the AP5 and AP6 (AP being Australian Production). the last of the 4-door a-bodies in australia. there is a fantastic website which details these models - search australian vc valiant and i'm sure you'll catch it. sory -...

couple of lovely cars there, boys. here in australia, we got some great a-bodies too. but they're all 4 doors. each car that's being driven is one less going to the crusher. so hey, we're being environmental! my old white '67 sedan ('veronica') was an absolute beater and i loved it. warm /6...
