    I wasn't impressed with the Schumacher headers either...factory exhaust manafolds would be as good and look way better. tti is the only way to go for me tho.

    i'd bent the pittman arm down a tad before i'd dimple the header.that will also level your center link.

    the machined spot just below the exhaust port(where the smog holes are in later heads) hits the manifold at the rear of the head...even 318 manifolds don't fit 587's or the 73 and later 318 heads.

    Worth it to put headers on a 318?

    headers good...manifolds bad.i put headers on my challenger in high school and even with the 2 barrel carb...318... it was an instant hot rod...biggest power improvement for the money.tti and dougs are nice but i use hookers a lot too.

    they'll fit...there not to bad,take oil filter off,mounts loose,and of course the center link.i pop mine apart at the pitman arm and let it hang down.they do hang low...

    those are deffacately truck headers....the ones in the spermmit link are the right ones for a duster.i have done many sets on a bodies and never had to remove the torsion bar...just take mounts loose and lift engine a little...and loosen center link,kick down ect.get the car up as high as you...

    i've done all of those and the very best one is weld a good headed bolt to the crappy one.you deffacatly dont wanna cut the head off...even a good machine shop could mess it up getting the rest out....i lied...never used the inside out easy out...try that first....then the weld thing...good luck

    ive got a 67 coronet with a healthy 68 340 and went cheap with exhaust...75 fury muflers and 2.5 pipe from the headers,turndowns at the rear...sounds great,i get complements ery i drive it and thats often.
