    Radiator

post #210 of my build thread 72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5 cut/weld lower brackets out of C channel on to the XV lower reinforcement. Just tack welded a 1-5/8" machine washer to secure the radiators lower mount bushing.

My 3.6l Swap is running well. Autocross and dragstrip(14.3 @99mph) Edelbrock Supercharger, E85, 3.90 gears are on the agenda

Anyone running a cable throttle body on a 5.7?

"65hp" is actually a "Peak to Peak" Hp. It is the difference between Peak Stock hp to HRT Peak hp +100hp rating is the difference in Hp of both cams at a specific RPM. For the Stage1 non-VVT its ~6300rpm and 6000rpm for the 5.7l Eagle. It used to highlight how bad the stock cam chokes at higher...

No problem Vararam makes this cool "air grabber" like intake for that manifold. Its pretty tall since its for a Ram but I thought its a cool looking concept in general since the TB sticks straight up

It was a strait bolt on to the LX 6.4L we tested on the dyno.
  8. myduster360

    Holley Stuff

That test compared it to a stock 6.1 intake. On our Dyno the Lx Eagle 5.7 manifold made more torque and Hp under 5000rpm than the 6.1l. So it's likely losses below 5000rpm would be greater. If you really want an intake that make GOOD Tq/Hp and not just one that LOOKS good. The stock Eagle 5.7...

Plan on a turbo or be prepared for the proven loss of a good 40whp/40wftlb between 3500-5500. That's how much the intake alone cost its owner on a stock 6.1L

    Anyone Use the Proflex Commander

I've been writing E85 tunes for over 10years and the fuel's +100oct awesome especially if your Boosted. BUT E85 requires 20-30% more fuel than Gas. The big issue I have with kits like these is that many stock injectors, regardless of make or model, just don't have an extra 30% capacity at WOT...

    Hemi Swap 2014 5.7 VVT

As 408 Swinger said, neither the 45 or 90 degree adapter will work with a QA1 in an A-body. It has to be a remote oil filter setup. The V8 mount on the right side gets in the way. The Slant 6 offers more room for sure but the 45 degree adapter still doesnt fit without modifying the stock slant...

    Hemi Swap 2014 5.7 VVT

I don't think anything is needed but a small filter but I'm not sure exactly. The pic is from a customer of his car. I sent him a msg to see what it look like in the car. I'm trying to find a Slant 6 K. But of course you trip over them when you don't want one but they all disappear as soon as...

    MSD Hemi 6 question

I would strongly recommend keeping them seperate. Use the MSD Map for the ignition and the Fast MAP for the EZ. Each box will be looking for its own 5v source, signal and ground. If you're not careful , you can get a ground offset between the two boxes which will cause errors in the pressure...

    Hemi Swap 2014 5.7 VVT

FYI: If a Slant 6 K-frame and Schumaker mounts are used, it frees up a LOT of room around the oil filter.

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

That's AWESOME! No complicated Oil filter fiascos and a WORKING A/C compressor on our A-Body Hemi swaps! This is a Big deal! It would be great to see the clearance on both sides with the K-frame installed.

It won't fit easily, if at all. There is not much more than 10" between the bottom of the tank and the trunk floor.

    6.1 Hemi into 72 Demon March 2018

Solid mount = metal on Metal If your HDK motor mounts have urethane bushings(pretty sure they do), a solid mounted trans will eventually fatigue and crack.
  22. myduster360

    6.1 Hemi into 72 Demon March 2018

Typically a solid trans mount without solid engine mounts is a surefire way to crack an aluminum transmission case.

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

Its ~23.25" wide at the exhaust ports, which stick out a bit past the valve covers. For reference a 440 is 23.8"

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

Well you only need the $1200 QuickTime bell housing if you chose to use a +$2000 TKO 5 speed. I've done tons of R&D on swaping a 3.6L and have listed several transmission options in my build thread: 72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5 My 3.6L came out of a 2013 Wrangler.
  25. myduster360

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

Costly and heavy too. That's why I went a different route with a left over aluminum 3.6L NAG1 bell from a Wrangler Hemi swap. Jeep swap houses have piles of them and it was $70 shipped. I then designed an adapter plate and redrilled my flywheel. I've got ~$350 in it.
  26. myduster360

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

Considering most 3.6l make ~ 220hp at the wheels, an extra 150whp seems to be the norm. 600hp would seem a bit much, but there's plenty making 375-400whp without much issues.
  27. myduster360

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

I saw that but its more different than similar. The only thing it has that's even remotely in common with the Pentastar is the block and maybe the water pump. The Maserati uses completely different heads, intake, cams ect. Its heads have "old school" individual exhaust ports and cast iron...
  28. myduster360

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

ABSOLUTELY! Same/better crank hp AND 1/2 the weight. Even better, its not uncommon for the Supercharged and turbo'd variants to be making around 400hp at the Wheels.
  29. myduster360

    Not a Hemi but a 3.6 V6

The 3.6l uses the same pcm as the 2012 and newer Hemi. The 3.6l v6 Jeep also uses the same 5speed NAG1 5speed auto that is a common swap. Just swap the bellhousing. Hardly no aftermarket suppport. The OP already has a Hotwire harness to use as well as a Quicktime bellhousing for the TKO...
